Rechamber 243 to 6mm Rem because I'm odd

Back about when the .240 Wby came out I was making a 6mm-280 Improved (30 degree)... it turned out to be the same capacity and velocities... a lot of devastating one shot kills...

I own a Weatherby Vanguard in 240wby not worried about getting brass - bought 40 rounds of 100 grainers and have another 20 on order. With, my 60 rounds I should be good for awhile. The Weatherby isn't a bench gun - after break-in and scope sight in (20 rounds) it will be good to go. Perhaps 3-4 shots a year at most - am only going to shoot factory ammo out of this rifle.

...would belted cases feed properly from a Tikka mag?

I think the .240 case would feed from a 30-06 size magazine as it is basically a belted 30-06... easiest way to find out is to try a couple in a standard magazine.

I don't know what it would do in a magnum magazine...

I did consider the 240 Wby, but like many people, I don't want to spend that much on brass. The 6mm Rem seemed like a compromise on budget and being a bit unique.

It is a GREAT cartridge and much CHEAPER brass BUT really needs a std lenght action for proper COAL with Heavy for cal bullets ! I have one in a M700 Classic and its OK with lighter bullets ! RJ
