Recoil reduction

My father is in the same situation with the same rifle in 30-06. We put a new Limbsaver pad, and I loaded for 125 bullets as light as I could.

One of my friends got a hold of a mercury tube from a shotgun I think it was. Anyway he stuck it in the back of a rifle and it helped a fair bit, but it did make the butt of the rifle heavier.

That exact rifle, if you’re talking about the classic one with the checkered wooden stock in 7mm Remington Magnum, will shoot like a brand new date if you put a grind to fit limb saver on there and get familiar with the gun.

Buy another rifle. 7mm Remington is right up there with a 338LM. More than a 45-70 Gov or 300 WM. Just stay away from those hard hitters, problem solved.

People who buy magnums and then spend money and time trying to reduce the recoil. We men aren't very bright sometimes.
The factory butt pad was like an old hockey puck.

The 7RM with 160’s is nearly identical to the 30-06 with 165’s in recoil energy and velocity.

+1 more vote for Limbsaver 'grind-on' pad. I've got several. Looks better than the 'slip-on' pads. If you DON'T shoot around others, a Brake is great but will PIXX-off anyone nearby. I hate to 'feel' the muzzle-blast of the 'next-lane over' thru my whole body.

I had a shoulder injury and recoil became an issue fore me. I tried everything and finally discovered Falconstrike recoil reducers.
They are a Canadian company and are a fluid filled recoil pad. They made my rifles and shotguns feel like 22lr. They are a fluid filled pad that delays, redirects and reduces the impact felt. They look good and come in custom fit and universal fit styles.
Martin at Falconstrike is great to work with and made custom adapters ay little cost so I did not have to redrill some of my guns.
I have used Limbsaver and Kickeeze but the Falconstrike on the same guns did not just reduce the recoil, it eliminated it.

I,m looking for suggestions in how I can reduce recoil on a Remington BDL in 7mm I just picked up,Recoil was never a factor before but as my old body becomes beat up and more arthritis in shoulders and back(stupid crap I did when young and foolish) it now plays a factor in my shooting.Open to any suggestions, thanks
HI I HURT MY SHOULDER A FEW YEARS BACK
I COULD NOT TAKE THE RECOILOF A 308. I'M A WELDER. AND A MILL WRIGHT.
AND I MADE MYSELF A LEAD SLED, OUT OF OLD PIECES OF STEEL.
