Recommend me a 165 grain. REVIVAL!

Where do I find woodleigh bullets? I've heard big things about them

Tradex, bottom row on the right side of the banner box above the forums, sells Woodleighs.

These aren't 165s but . . .

I've used the .270 180 gr, the .308 240 gr, and the .375 350 gr. Woodleighs. I found they all shot well with 2 exceptions, a 1:10 twist in the .270 isn't quick enough to stabilize the 180s; a 1:9 or even a 1:8 would be better, and the 240s didn't stabilize in my wife's a 1:12 twist Husqvarna, but it did shoot well in my 1:10 Brno, both .30/06s.

I’ve read more than one comment re: flat base over boat tail for interlocks and I’ll have to pull one of mine to see which it it, I was using factory loaded ammo. Did a great job at penetrating, I would’ve loved to recover the bullet just to see what it looked like and see how much weight it retained.

What I initially thought was the entry hole was not, there was a small bullet sized hole in the shoulder blade an inch or two from the rear edge. The bullet must have expanded a bit before entering the right side ribs, the exit hole is the biggest I’ve seen so far. Much bigger than the golf ball sized exit the 180gr Federal .303 so I shot a deer with last season.

That entrance isn't uncommon in the interlocks from my experience. I use the 180 grain round nose in my 30-06
Before

After a extremely hard quartering away almost raking shot on 198 pound (gutted) 10 point at 75 yards. Retained 158 grains after blowing off his sirloin tip, blowing up liver, intestines, gut bag, top of right lung and coming to rest under right shoulder blade.

But that was a 165 grain out of a 308 eh? I'm assuming from a boat anchor with a 24" barrel as well?

You are shooting average sized deer with a .308 at close range. It really doesn't matter much what bullet you use, but if the flattened tips annoy you, use one with a pointy plastic tip.

It's hard to beat sierras sbt, or sierra match kings for just plain great accuracy. I also had good luck with the eldx for exits.
What kind of ranges on the eldx? Not sure how well they'd do in a pump rifle mag, probably have to load em deep. Really thinkin bout them Sierra 165 grain HPBT.

Well what if bigfoot comes along? Then what? Maybe he's half @ss bulletproof and requires a super duper big bang bullet. Never know, crazy world these days.

For some strange reason I get the vibe you're into the 375 Ruger, don't ask why just a feelin I'm getting. Something tells me through and through isn't much of a problem with a cannon like that.

I caught the sarcasm as well. Ganderite is good at it, lol.

I heartily recommend the 165 Partition. I have had them pass through a
young bull moose on a broadside shot, and after over 100 animals shot
with Nosler Partitions from 6mm up to 375, I have complete confidence
in them to do the job from any angle we normally are presented with. Dave.
