For the win. I have the same one (ducks unlimited version) and its one of the most accurate and reliable guns I've ever ownedFor a nice looking rifle and as good a shooter as you will find, and not just another 1022, a Marlin 60 stainless in laminate stock. Nicest looking .22 semi every made in my opinion. Good rifle too.

I recently had the chance to play with a Miroku SA22, and to be honest, they are just as nice as the Belgium made one...
The one I would like take hunting
Didn't know these were available in Canada. 597 magazine compatibility is nice.
The build quality on my centerfire ASR is excellent, much better than other PCCs that I've handled at the price point.

Actually, the conventional Browning / Miroku SA 22 might be worth a look for the OP. They really do handle very differently (magazine tube in the buttstock). And if you're into the mechanical (or historical) side of things, just the design of the rifle itself is interesting enough to warrant getting one (one of John Browning's originals).

That's where you would be wrong.
The biggest appeal of the Ruger 10/22 used to be the availability and reliability of its 25 round magazines. This is what made the rifle so popular. The only other rifles that had magazines with that capacity was the Marlin 795 and the Remington 597. The 795 was far better than the 597, but both lacked after market support which was the second reason Ruger was more popular.
Marlin Model 60s are cool, but since Marlin has sold to Ruger we may never see a Model 60 again. The stainless barrel with laminate stock is an awesome little rifle, I'd buy one, but as of now they are unavailable. So strike it off the list.
The Browning SA22 looks cool and maybe the only tube fed style semi auto 22 in production.
I do prefer wood stocks on certain rifles over plastic anyday.

- To me, I never cared all that much about magazine capacity, just as long as they were reliable. The BX-10 is among the best. I can't say the same with all the different higher capacity magazines I've tried over the years... On the other end, they get you to practice your malfunction drill. Weapon fires weapon stop, CHECK: Double feed!
- I like the 10/22, because like the AR15 (or a Jeep) they're Lego for men, with so many parts available
In the category: It would be nice to have, to log around on the motorcycle and go plinking in the middle of no-where
- A short-barrel take-down 10/22

Would love to have either one of these semi's but unfortunately they appear to be internally suppressed so ain't gonna happen....
Many of the really good 22 semis, are discontinued older models, and I like the Voere .22 semi firing from an open bolt, with the firing pin also ground into the bolt. They are now collectors items, but can still be found for a reasonable price. Gevarm made a version of this rifle too.

You cannot go wrong with a Marlin model 60 or 795 and if you can find one the Model 7000. All are very accurate shooters, the 7000 a cut above the rest. I also like the Remington 552 if you can find a nice condition older model, as in 90’s or earlier.
