recommendations for 40 cal

The M&P line was developed around the .40, wasn't it? The tolerances and whatnot are designed for .40. GLOCKs were designed for 9mm then modified.

Plus the cartridge is called .40 Smith and Wesson, I think they've earned your dollar for their caliber

Why not ask if there are any CGNers in your area that would be willing to let you test out their pistols? I have seen several posts in different threads were CGNers openly invite others out to the range.

Dude, if you're implying the Sig is unreliable, or less reliable than the any pistol, you don't know what your saying. That's like posting Crosby is a mediocre hockey player!

LMAO, actually, I like all guns, Sigs included. I have a CZ I shoot IPSC with and an M&P I love to shoot too. I was just pulling at your sig-lovin' chain (hence the smiley after my comment ).

I know Sigs to be great guns, I've shot more than a few, but they're not my preference. My 1911-lovin' grip always has me pressuring down on the Sig's ill-placed (IMHO) slide-release so the slide stop never works on the last round. Just my personal preference.

nobody mentionned HK USP? it was designed around the 40 also.

I am sure we'll hear the typical "Too big and too expensive", but anybody considering a Sig should look into those also... price, quality even size is close to the Sig. It just feels completly different.

I agree you have to hold one before you buy as they are not for everybody, but they have a couple features that are worth it IMHO. I have a USP 9 V1, and loved the thing as soon as I held it, and even more when I shot it.

I was training with a M&P40 at a new job today as thats what they issue. It seem 0k, I haven't fired it yet, but still likes my USP better.

Nothing is over engineered like a USP.

I have the CZ, SIG, & Glock. Prefer them in that order. All shoot well. Make sure it fits your hand.
