Recommendations of a 9mm for competition

I just mentioned it in another thread. Do yourself a favor and check out an Arsenal Strike one. Never fired one but got the whole spiel from the Russian guys at the Calgary Gun show, it felt really nice and it's legal in Production Division. Been thinking of getting one myself.

The Glock 34 will place you in Standard shooting Minor, which is no good.
If you want a long slide Glock, get the 35 so you can at least shoot Major.

Those Russian guys also tried telling me that they could "race" with that double barreled 1911 abomination

Strike One is not legal for production division (barrel length was 128mm), unless has a factory shortened barrel (to 127mm) or it is a latest SPEED model.....
Call TSE in Calgary and ask what they think about this handgun (they have one as a rental pistol)......

CZ75 SP-01 Shadow - is the best choice for the Production Division in IPSC...............soon, there will be 2 sub-divisions in Production: Production-Shadow and Production-Others ;))))))

Could you just tell us what TSE would say? I'm curious too, since I also fondled one of these pistols at the Calgary gun show and was impressed.

I like the gun, even shot it several times. For IPSC - maybe, but hard to get mags and parts, and it still has problems to fix (mag drops when fired, hard to take apart, and several others)

so what?????? the older Strike One had a 128mm barrel...still breaking the rules...read the rules first, in particular Appendix D4......

Appendix E4b has the rule you are talking about. I get what your saying but IPSC themselves list 3 models as legal on their own website with out any specific exemptions like there is on many other models. Just taking the logical leap of faith here that they wouldn't contradict their own rules.

TeaPot2 will post in 3... 2... 1...

Here was another thread about the Strike One: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1230904-Arsenal-Strike-one?highlight=Strike+one

I know Slavex has nothing nice to say about it. Mi paisan DucatiKid got one a month or so ago and loves it. That said, only a few hundred rounds down the pipe so far. Pretty smooth shooting, easy recoil with the low bore axis (like my Steyr). Trigger is a little mushy.

So many options.... Glock, M&P, CZ, PPQ, Sig, Strike One are all solid choices... You need to get some hands on time a see which works for you!

:) all models of Strike One are coming with 127mm (production legal) barrel since October of last year. 128 was dropped completely. Current line of barrels is 127mm standard, 144mm threaded, and 300mm for carbine conversion. The sporty Speed model is coming to Canada in a few days. We will try to sponsor a shooter for Alberta provincial in July

Mags are not an issue, available in various floor plate colors and they are not dropping anymore :)

We don't have a shooter yet. It can be any one... Ideally we will be looking for a shooter who is ranked somewhere between 5th and 10th place and see if our gun can make a difference :)

I tried to get a sponsorship from TP about 2 years ago when the Strike One just became available :)

All I wanted to say, IF you have an older Strike One, just make sure that your gun complies with Production Division rules.
