Recommendations / opinions on optics for Ruger 10/22?

put a Cabela's home brand, Pine Ridge 3x9 on my new 10/22
i followed my dad, he had picked one up a couple months ago.

as far as i can see they are the best bang for the buck out there.
i think mine was $109 or $129

as for using the stock iron's as back up, get some rings that arnt solid and have holes in them, they are made for that.

pic time!

Did you use the stock rail on the 10/22?

I bought the see through rails too but actually mounted the scope on the stock Ruger rails that it came with. It's a perfect fit. The lense caps actually catch a little so you have to pull it out slowly.

Do you think it would still fit into the bag if mounted on shoot through rails?

Sorry this is a repeat as I'm new to the forum and didn't know how to reply properly. It might be a little snug with the see through rail. I used the stock rail that it came with and it fits perfectly in the sleeve of the bag.

How about a Nikon P-22 2-7x32? Not as low-budget as some of the options thrown out there, but that and quick detach rings might be good combination for what you're after. It's the scope I'd like to drop on a semi when I get one.

Im actually looking at the new Zeiss Terra 2-7 which should be available in Canada any time now. Its price will be around $400 which isnt exactly low end but for a Zeiss thats really good.

VX-1 rimfire 2-7x28 is what i have on my takedown. It fits in the bag, and is clear out to 100 yds. I cant remenber the ring height, but they are Weaver rings, and the scope sits nice and low on the gun. Extremely happy with the choice.
