Red dot for a rimfire

My Buckmark reflex has been in service for 5 years, still going strong. In the gopher patch, and plinking. Pretty good value. When or if it dies, I will get another.

I'm surprised, because this design seems to be passed around and rebranded by a number of different brands. I bought one as a Firefield from Cabela's and it was utter crap - seemed fine when I was bore sighting it, but then on the first trip to the range it was barely bright enough on the highest setting to see, and went downhill from there. About the only good thing about it was Cabela's returned it with no hassles whatsoever, and I got a Vortex Crossfire red dot instead.

I bought the Browning Buckmark red dot at the Sail store last year, they come on sale regularly for $60 plus tax. Took out a Buckmark pistol today, first shot regular sights then put the red dot on using a browning buckmark weaver rail. It did take some effort to dial in the red dot but once me and friend did, it was spot on. 10 yards my friend was hitting loonie sized groups. I found it was so much better to shoot with 2 eyes open than 1 eye. We did 420 rounds through the pistol today. It was so much fun. Only negative is that it is tall. It ain't no vortex or burris but also doesn't cost as much. You can buy 5 of them for the price of 1 those. People complain about batteries but you can go to Dollarama and buy a 3 pack of CR2032 for $1.25. Stated in the manual only for 22lr.

Enjoy

The tasco mentioned a couple times will work fine...and it's available with a dovetail mount so no adapter is needed. It's 30mm so it's larger than the trs25 but since it doesn't require a dovetail adapter it will mount at a similar height. I have a Burris fastfire on my papoose mounted with an adapter, but it's not exactly a budget solution...Bushnell first strike would work but the dot isn't as nice as the fastfire, maybe their newer offerings are better.

TRS25 on a Gamo 1000 air rifle for 15 yrs now and if anything that wrecks a scope or dot an air rifle will do it, no problems with mine and dead on everytime I take it out, get's lots of use in the summer with squirrels, a good red dot. Just my thought's.

Def a rebrand of chinesium engineering. Mine still works quite well, though it might be time for a new one. the body has a few cosmetic nicks, and the coating on the glass is a little foggy.

I'll get another one for sure :) I think I got my money out of it.

Exactly my experience with these sights, bought two hoping the first one was just bad luck but no,they just suck. Now Got Juice has me thinking that the Browning labeled ones may be of higher quality?? I'm hoping so anyway cause I'm going to try one, I really like the look of them and just want one to work lol, I think it would be perfect for my new GSG 16

Maybe i was lucky? I have noted the reflective coating on the lense is starting to thin, mainly from cleaning. Time for a new one I think.

Hard to say, I think maybe Browning may get them made at a bit higher quality standards just because their name is on it?
The funny thing is my buddy has a Firefield just like mine that has lasted well over two years, my first fell apart the first time I shot it and my second one the dot wanders like an unfaithful wife lol
I'm going to try one of the Browning ones just to see, if I get another lemon at least I'm not out a pile of money

Good point. I am heading down to my LGS today to look at another in fact. Plus i need a new jag for my dewey rod.

I have 2 red dots. They are pretty neat. I wish I would have got a magnified scope tho. Great for grouse both are on me Rugers 10/22 and sr22

It would be nice if Bushnell had not discontinued the weaver mount that I have, everything is Picatinny now and it does not fit most rifles with out drilling to mount the Picatinny rail, I have also mounted mine on my Nylon 66 to try it out but can't buy a weaver mount one now any where. And we are talking about the TRS-25.

Mounted TRS 25 on many weaver mounts just fine.
