Haven't received it yet, just ordered this week; I expect no problems, as I have ordered a couple of other times from Skinner and everything went smoothly, but the last time was pre-Covid, so...we'll see. I don't recall them using ###### the last time I ordered, but now that seems to be how orders are processed. They have an option for paying with a credit card, no ###### involvement, supposedly...but you still get an email from ###### confirming, so I dunno. I don't order much from the states, and always buy a pre-paid gift-card Visa for these occasions.
The more I look at the pics, the more convinced I am that this thing will be too high for my Henry. I was snooping around the EGW site and was flabbbergasted at the number of different mounting plates they produce for mounting assorted red dot brands on assorted handguns, including numerous types of dovetails used by various makers...and yet they don't seem to make a simple mounting plate that fits into a standard 3/8-inch barrel dovetail as used on so many rifles. If they made such an item, I would likely buy a couple even if I didn't own whichever brand of red dot it served, and then buy the optics to match. Screw the naked sight right down onto the thin, flat mounting plate and you would have low-profile perfection.
Edited to add: I see that the service that handles Skinner's system for credit card payment has its name blocked out on CGN...for good reason, IMHO. So for those who haven't guessed what it is...let's rename it "Remittance Buddy".
