Whats the best muzzle brake to use to reduce recoil???
I have been looking at the noveske kx3 ...flaming piggy... Anything better???

i know theres not much recoil but I want to get it down as much as possible. I wanna get back on target as fast as i can.

The KX3 is designed for short barrel carbines 11.5" and shorter. I beleive it was primarily designed to deal with the gas systems on short carbines and any reduction in recoil would be a side benefit.

PWS FSC556 looks good ...my carbine is 10,5 inch should I be looking for a comp or somthing like the piggy

Yankee Hill Machine Comp.... works VERY WELL Keeps my muzzle down, and pisses off my buddies to the left and right of me ...lol the blast, and sound wave is incredible at 45's from the muzzle brake. Only quiet place is the shooter...

The Nordic Comp that the new STI rifles come with is amazing. I never thought somehting so small wold work so good, but no matter what soldier fired these rifles at CFSAC, they stayed flat...

Better than the Miculek I had on my previous rifles.

I've also used the Rescomp tunable comp - it works pretty slick to get the gun going steady up and down as opposed to the right.

If you're in the rapids with your AR, there's more to worry about than the guns recoil.....
Don't forget about 3 gun and IPSC Rifle - where two shot per target are normal fare...;)

The MOST effective and LOUDEST brake (there are some on this board that have heard in in operation on 1 of my AR's,but speak loud if asking them) is the JP Rifle Recoil Eliminator and can be found on his site. Not the pretiest but the rifle will not move up or down, left or right, or even back.
Google JP Rifles if interested.

ATRS/Spartan brake:

In testing with full auto mag dumps, it was shown to keep recoil almost straight
back with negligable muzzle climb. Muzzle flash is suppressed slightly better than a Smith CG brake.

Longer gas system will produce less felt recoil (longer impulse)

I think you will be very hard pressed to find a better brake than our Triple Tap - but its inconel and pricey...

I like how the SR-15 feels. It's really nice to shoot.

If I had the cash, I'd already have a Triple Tap on it. :( Along with one on my tan SBR.

Instead, I have a UBR, and NF 1-4 in LaRue mount.....

Kev, want to trade an Aimpoint Micro in a LaRue LT-660 medium mount for a Triple Tap?
I have extras of both, NIB. ;) I might need something else to sweeten the deal though. lol
