First off thanks to the members of CGN, without your help this refinish would not have been possible.

So the story
My wife bought me a 2009 polytech M305 for Christmas.
I started looking around for a Wood stock to replace the poly stock that comes with it.
I found a couple places out of the state, and hoped i would find someone in Canada so i threw up a WTB.
A really cool CGN'er Named TGC answered my ad and offered me for the cost of shipping a M14 wood stock (older and needing refinishing). I happily excepted, as anything worth doing takes some work.
It got here and here is what it looked like when it showed up.

It got here and i started off by getting some advice by some of the CGN'ers on how to refinish the stock. It took 2 attempts LOL! First attempt was a resounding failure lol. Hey give me a break it was my first try.

second try came out much better, here are the finished photos.

I went looking on line for the toy M14 i had as a kid way back when in the 60's that Topper toys had put it, and for the ones that are still around, sellers are looking at getting 500 to 600 for them, very rare it apears, and so is the companion 1911 that topper put out also
