2 threads have been deleted so far, so I figured it would be best to post this here outside of their control in their forum.

Last week Rangeview Sports posted they had UNISSUED/UNFIRED/NEVER ISSUED Mosin Nagants for sale. Some with standard stocks, some with Laminate. They were sold for $459.99 and $559.99 respectively. As you can imagine, that's quite the claim and you would expect that this has been examined and verified by the retailer. I picked mine up in person and got it cleaned up on sunday. It was coated in what seemed like new cosmoline, not thick and gunky, came off pretty easily with a good wipe with a rag and what looked like green bearing grease in the barrel. As I examined it a little further and looked up some markings online, sure enough, it was a refurbished mosin. Not only that, a proof mark seems to have been grinded off on the receiver.

Others sounded their concerns in the thread initially posted by rangeview and they also had refurb markings and others that had seen them in person mentioned they were refurbed. I, along with a few others paid a good chunk more than the going rate for it. It's the whole reason I bought it, was it was supposed to be unmolested by an arsenal refurbishing plant. I emailed them monday afternoon asking what was up with the rifles and what can be done as I purchased a BRAND NEW, NEVER ISSUED MOSIN. Not a refurb. No response by the next day, so I decided to give them a call. I spoke with the manager, Paul. I explained that my rifle was refurbished, not-unissued and not new as advertised. His response? All firearm sales are final. My supplier told me they were brand new, I will contact them. But thats like buying a new truck and going to pick it up and it has 20,000 KM on the odometer, that's not a new truck, apparently not in their eyes. I was told they won't return the gun and won't be doing anything about the situation and it's not his fault.

I've worked my fair share of customer service, and done some time in a business management role and never in a million years would I have expected a response like that. Between the dismissive tone and the lack of ownership, the whole thing has been a mess and now many others are finding out their rifles are too refurbished. They have backpedaled online and changed their listings on their store to remove the unissued part. They deleted the initial thread and the follow up posted by another member stuck with a gun that was not as advertised. They are still advertising them as of now as NEVER FIRED UNISSUED MOSINS on their facebook, which I was able to get a screen shot of in case they try to delete that too.

I will link the current thread HERE but don't expect it to work come business hours tomorrow. The CGN admins have been messaged and credit card companies called. I invite everyone who has been left out to dry to PM me and please post all your pictures of any signs of tampering, refurbishment, etc.

Be wary of who you purchase from, and if it sounds too good to be true, probably is.

I'll say it again on this thread... EVERYONE who feels they were mislead by this company needs to call their CC company and initiate a chargeback NOW.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I've seen the previously deleted threads and Rangeview's complete lack of integrity on the issue and I think it's completely unacceptable.

I don't like seeing others mislead, ripped off and blown off when they bought trustingly with their hard earned money. Call your CC company and get your hard earned money back. There's no other way to deal with a situation like this.

Oh, and prehaps leave a negative trader rating while you're at it.

If there are crates of unissued rifles out there they sure aren't going to have mixed dates of 1944 and prior on the guns.

If the store bought these on faith that they were unfired, the buyer for that store should not be buying milsurps.

I think I was first or second to comment on the original tread pushing for anwsers on how could these be unissued. Anyhow they will never get money from me screw them there are so many awsomr retailers on this site to waste money on them.

Not to sound rude, and maybe I am naive but do unfired Mosins even exist? Sounds to good to be true to me. They were after all used by a country that lost 25,000,000 people during the war, not to mention all the conflicts by satellite nations post war. I don’t think anything they made went unused.

I got really excited for a couple of seconds when I saw unissued Mosins, but a couple seconds later realized they were just refurbs.
I have a probably unissued but refurbed mosin on the EE. All original parts on it. All have an unissued PU so they do exist

Still waiting an answer to my emails.
Rangeview is definitely not taking care of their customers.
They screw up...false advertising....at least fix it instead of deleting threads

They probably deserve a few bad reviews on Google and facebook.

A reputation is hard to earn...Rangeview definitely screw up and are not willing to fix anything

Gunnutz.... just stay away from Rangeview !!!

I saw em on their original tread and said no way at the time but wow their definitely on the avoid list now, I hope everyone is able to contact their CC and get refunds cuz that’s BS.

Don’t forget about rangeview’s shill posters that were bumping their own threads. If everyone who got burned on these Mosins does a CC chargeback because rangeview won’t make it right, they’ll rub into trouble with the processing company also.

There are always new, unissued, guns somewhere. That doesn't mean you'll find them at your local gun store in case quantities. The seller should have known these guns weren't new, unissued rifles. So should the wholesaler. If anyone finds out who the wholesaler was, it would be interesting to find out what they say the guns are.

I know that it was a long shot to get an unissued Mosin but if they were and I missed it. Honestly why would a retailer be so sure of themselves to make such a bold add and ship these. They must have looked over the rifles if they were something this rare.

There is rust on my bolt at the extractor. The rifles have had heavy work done on the metal and the stocks have been sanded.

Look at the shoulder just below the date stamp. The left side is straight. No shoulder is left.
All they had to do was admit they too got ripped off by their supplier and tried to work with me on it.

Funny thing here, and i find it fascinating that things didn’t happen that way, is that it could have been simple to avoid the mess. Rangereview could have said "sorry folks we didn’t know". Offer the buyers a choice of partial refund (to match what similar Mosins sell for elsewhere),or full refund if gun is returned. Guns returned then can be sold (with correct description). Maybe some financial loss, but reputation is preserved (or improved).

Or maybe there are details which elude me.
