Regarding YETI...

Well now this thread totally derailed. But back on the cooler topic, I was looking at a few high end brands and settled for a Pelican. I highly recommend them, much more robust latches than the yeti, cheaper, bear proof and it matches my gun case.

This is where I’m currently at, as well. If I was in the market, I’d be looking into a Pelican Cooler.

From Pelican:

For every cooler purchased this month, we’ll donate $10 to the NRA + and give you a FREE tumbler of your choice. Promo code: PELICANPROUD

🇺🇸 Made in the USA

Promo good until April 30!

We have gun priveledge. The PAL is good because I don't want criminals and nut bars with guns even though they seem to get them.
Our system(other than prohibs/ restricted) is better for society in general. We have some decent rules from the conservatives. The liberals will fk it up until they lose power. We don't have the right to bear arms...never will. To many people think we do.

typical fud garbage

Awesome response, great critical thinking skills. Thanks for joining the conversation and volunteering useful and/or constructive viewpoints or information... It’s no wonder gun owners can’t get together to voice their concerns in a cohesive and articulate manner when that’s the level of dialogue one can expect with a fellow enthusiast.

Wow, the foil hats are strong with this group. C-71 will happen when rhetoric like this thread continue to happen.

But on the topic of the thread as it was a started, i read this to say "hey guys, Yeti might be dropping sponsorship with the NRA, so y'all may want to boycott them, but before you do that, send us some money so we can make you a "custom" YETI tumbler".

Backhanded marketing at its best...

YETI chose a side. They chose the anti-gun side that pressured them to cut ties with the NRA in the wake of the Florida shooting, and they did. They cancelled new orders and refused to fill standing orders according to the NRA website -- which is why no one is buying their recent claim that it was all just a misunderstanding.

Once the backlash gained momentum, the bean-counters at YETI finally clued-in that their customer base is far closer aligned with NRA members than the lefties they were virtue-signalling to, so they backpeddled, but to add insult to injury they tried to make it look as if the NRA misunderstood them and over-reacted.

They made their bed, now they can sleep in it. I for one will not support them, and Pelican coolers are better value anyway.

No shortage of Liberal gun owners in this thread.

Not Liberal, not Conservative, but free thinking moderate with a firm belief in gray vice black and white.

I don’t have any Yeti products as I’ve found other options I prefer, however if they make something better later on I’ll consider it. They’re doing what they believe is in their own best interest; can’t fault that. I buy products on function and then price.

Critical thinking skills..

Omg if people don't understand what the nra has done to keep the firearms industry going then I don't have the time to debate it with people that don't grasp the idea that without them in the states we would have close to nothing up here...

Yeti must be run by idiots. Who do they think is buying their overpriced coolers? Hint-It’s not the rabid anti gun people that will be pleased by Yeti cutting ties with the NRA.

The people buying thier coolers are either gun owners/hunters who mostly support the NRA -or- they are the general public that don’t care anyway. Idiots.

Companies would be better off not picking sides or voicing the political beliefs of the few in the company as though it is the opinion of all. Make your products, sell them, repeat.

I was wondering that myself, they don't seem to smart with this latest move. I will not support someone that doesn't support my hobby. It is like buying car parts from someone hellbent on getting my car taken off the road. I have always thought that their product was overpriced crap anyway, so really not a big loss.

I’m quite content with my Yeti gear and won’t be changing it over this. MEC ticked me off a little with their dropping of some hunting related lines, and I’ll probably drop my membership with them over it, but Yeti is safe for me.

I’m no Liberal, but I’m also not a militant gun rights activist, and the NRA has done nothing since that idiot Heston destroyed my respect for them back in ‘99.

1. This is Canadian Gun Nutz, not American Gun Nutz... who cares about the NRA, they certainly don't care about us.
2. NRA is much more interested in money than in the rights of (American) gun owners.
3. Drawing hard lines and threatening boycotts over things like this make us look like the fanatics that the political and social left tries to portray us as. Please don't play into their hands.
4. Anger at a business for making a decision regarding their own operations but no anger or disappointment towards the apparently inaccurate and misleading statement from the NRA? Seems a bit like biased/unfair judgement to me.

Who cares about the nra?educate your self first...if not for their influence in the USA we would have slingshots by now..fudd

Better not to have antis on board as they take up my oxygen...turn the other cheek and be nice?hows that working out for ya?

Meh they are a company, they will follow the money. To be honest there are other manufacturers who provide equivalent rotomolded for cheaper.

This^^^^^the doesn't matter to me attitude sucks, think if they ban the AR, Tavor and others in the US we will keep ours. This attitude of oh well, I like their coolers so I'll keep buying them is exactly why we have the laws we have. We complain about ISIS fighters returning to Canada then support Turkish factories that have links to terrorism for a deal on shotguns while old 870's get cut by cops with turn in your guns programs. This country is done within 2 generations max.

The factories? Or the government?

Because if we’re boycotting factories based on the government they work under... well, then I’ve gotta stop buying Canadian...

I'm going to assume their marketing department, and a lot of people way smarter than you ran the numbers when they decided to do this, I am pretty sure their market is not (edit) people with firearms. Their target market is campers and people who fish, and then the average beach go-er.

The intersect with firearms is probably low enough they don't care.

Yes, because Canada always follows what the states does, lets not just blindly say that we can thank the NRA for every gun privilege we have here in Canada.

People just need to calm down, and take a step back. Why must you all get so up in arms (pun intended) with every minor thing, so what, a private company cancels a partnership, get over it.
Why not take your paycheck, and donate to the NRA yourself, instead of getting angry that someone elses money is no longer going to the NRA.

And lets be honest, half the people in this thread who are saying "I was sooo close to buying a Yeti, but after this, hell no", You were never going to buy a yeti in the first place, but keep making yourself feel like you've hurt the company that wounded your beloved NRA.
