Regarding YETI...

With #BoycottYETICoolers trending online for its alleged decision to cut ties with the National Rifle Association, the popular cooler company issued a statement insisting that it had only informed the NRA that it had ended some outdated discounts for its products. But on Wednesday, the NRA issued a response accusing YETI of trying to "run from the facts."
Marion Hammer, the former president of the NRA and the head of its Florida affiliate, told Guns.com that the NRA's claims that YETI had told them that they were no longer going to do business with them was true; YETI was simply trying to do "damage control."
"Yeti severed ties with the NRA and is now engaging in damage control after a backlash from many of its customers," said Hammer. Guns.com reports:
"In early March, Yeti refused to place a previously negotiated order from NRA-ILA, citing ‘recent events’ as the reason – a clear reference to the tragedy in Parkland, Florida," said Hammer, going on to say the company then delivered notice to the NRA Foundation that it was ending a seven-year agreement and demanded that the gun group remove the Yeti name and logo from the NRA's websites and print material.
"While Yeti is trying to spin the story otherwise, those are the facts," Hammer said. "While Yeti can choose to run from the NRA, they can’t run from the facts."
The #BoycottYETICoolers blowback began after the NRA Foundation said in a statement on Sunday that, "without prior notice" and with no real explanation, YETI informed the organization that it would not be selling products to the foundation:
Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isn’t sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy outdoor recreational and educational programs.
While gun-owning YETI customers were having some fun blowing up their expensive coolers, and YETI's competitors, including RTIC, Pelican, and ORCA, were wisely expressing their support for gun rights, YETI issued a statement accusing the NRA of misleading the public about what really went down:

Bill of Rights 1689 is good starting point. It’s nothing as neat as the American system as we don’t have a single document to look to in Common Law.
Blackstone’s Commentaries link it to the individual’s right to self-defence.

The SCC rulings trumpeted by anti-gun advocates overlook that they were ruling against ppl claiming the government has no authority to regulate this right to arms. That doesn’t diminish it to a privilege that we should ask for, cap in hand.

Boy ,that's a stretch. Does it mention "firearms?"

Saskdude99, you need to put down the cup of hot chocolate, step out of those favorite plaid onesies, and tell us your threshold of "response time".

If you really are from Saskatchewan, you will know what I mean. If you flavor yourself as an ex-pat living somewhere else... never mind.

I cant believe how many people on here are anti NRA... "theyve done nothing for gun owners" "they give in" "Theyre all about money, and dont care about gun owners"... my God... how do you people even live?

The NRA has stood its ground COUNTLESS times in the face of extreme opposition and been directly responsible for anti gun legislation failing or being dropped TIME and TIME again. So they gave in on the bump stock... ONE thing they gave in on... ONE in how long? Name another one! Their track record is so close to perfect when it comes to winning its crazy.

Yet thats not good enough for a bunch of Canadian closet liberals who, themselves, havent likely lifted a finger to push back against what goes on in THIS country.

The NRA has been the most effective voice for gun owners in the world. They are the sole reason the 2nd amendment still exists and they wield MASSIVE power in the US. Sure, they dont fight for us in Canada. But thats not the point.

Can you imagine how different things in Canada would be if we had an ORG like the NRA that isnt afraid to flex its muscle.

Its a shame how Canadian gun owners are so quick to complain and point fingers and tear down others but so impossibly slow to actually DO anything themselves. Pot calling the kettle black... more like Sloth calling the Hippo slow.

I could never afford a Yeti cooler anyway... but in support of gun rights all across north america, I wouldnt buy one now anyway.

excellent! I always feels that most Canadian adults are less informed than they should be. They read news and accept the same junk from Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, etc.

well if I could get 50 axis (all in different calibers and configurations) for the price of a 70... well then yeah. I’d do it too!

Use some common sense. 3 savage axis retail for one M70. Kinda like 50 disposable coolers equal one yeti. Quality over quantity for me any day. But if you prefer to live your life using garbage products....then fill your boots.

Agree. Quality over quantity any day. However, the Yeti is not standing much taller than its competitors. 10 year ago, when Yeti was the only producer for such quality coolers, Yeti was the only choice. Now, quite a few competitors are catching up the quality with lower prices.

Boy ,that's a stretch. Does it mention "firearms?"

A stretch? Surely you don’t think that Canadians‘ rights didn’t exist before Trudeau Sr gifted them to us?

And yes it specifically mentions firearms. They’ve been around in private possession for quite awhile.

Show me, other than general property rights, where firearms specifically are mentioned in our laws or constitution. I'd be willing to eat crow.

show me in our constitution where "general property rights" are mentioned

the Canadian Charter/Constitution/Bill of Rights is a piece of crap, the first 2 sentences negate everything written behind, the "law" can be changed on whim depending which way the wind blows

I say screw yeti, let them be a lesson to others. You are either pro gun, or you are not.

Make your choice.

And to be frank that goes for all Canadian businesses too.

I am watching like a hawk which vendors have taken action against C-71, and making notes who did it on their own accord, who did it after community pressure and who did nothing.

Every dollar i have for the next 40 years will spent accordingly.

Anyone here against the NRA is advocating for gun control, plain and simple....if the US 2A falters, so will we.

Agreed.

I didn't know what Yeti was until thus thread came along. I guess I'm outraged.

They make really nice coolers, good for boats and stuff. They may or may not be boycotting the NRA as an attempt to undermine gun rights in America...depending on who's story you believe.

Regardless of the reasoning, they ended their partnership with the NRA.

Up to you to research and decide if it was a boycott or not....or if you even care

EXACTLY! 100% Agreed..can't believe, well, actually I can & that's the sad part of all the in-bashing from CGN members(against the NRA). Guess I need me a little "Boycott" now, against those on here, 'Not to Do Business' with lol
