I have a Sig226 in .40 and just tried a bunch of reloads. I haven't used lead bullets before, only plated.

I noticed the lead lined the bore, and peeled off in strips while shooting. I also noticed a degredation in accuracy over a 200 round practice session, and I'm fairly certain it wasn't me (this time... )

I made up some truncated lead 180gr DRG bullets on top of 4.4gr of Titegroup seated to 1.150", made on Dillon dies in a 550.

I had shot 155gr Wolf plated stuff on 4.1 Titegroup which didn't cycle perfectly, but it was more accurate.

You guys are way more experienced than me. What do you recommend for a good load for .40 cal that will be accurate and reliable? I have a match this weekend and I don't want to make more of the 180's if I can help it!!
It would be nice to use commonly available bullets.

I know every gun is different, but I'm tired of chasing loads right before a match. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone wants to comment on what will make a semi more accurate, I'd like to hear it (besides "a cylinder!" ;) )

Where do you recommend I source the Frontier's, and why do you all like them so much?
Your closest source would be Higginson Powders outside of Ottawa.
Frontiers have extra thick plating which hangs on well. Many are cast and not just swaged. For a plated bullet, they're pretty consistently sized too.

Operational Pistol match. I have no idea what to compare it to. It will be "Shoot and Move" ...IPSC? I dunno. I just need decent accuracy. Ima Newb!

I just want reliable cycling, good accuracy, controllable recoil......you know....the perfect cartridge :D ...oh, and free would be nice.

Since I can't get components quickly, I'm going to shoot what I have, but I will look into the Frontiers next week.
