Has anyone loaded 230gr 45ACP with Vihtavouri 3N37, and get a decent fps on the chrono?

Specifically, I'm trying to setup a load for IPSC major through a 5" 1911. Max load on VV site is 6.6 gr and should be somewhere around 830fps, however i'm not even hitting 700fps @6.6. I'm using campro 230gr bullets, the TC is tight after some tweaking but can't hit the elusive 750fps yet.
I'm using the Hornady lock and load auto charge for measuring, and verifying with another digital scale, I know the grain weight is correct.
I'm using Dominion large primers, as that's all I currently have. I use their small pistol in 9mm and have good results.
I've changed chrono's, because my first one was crap. I'm kind of out of ideas, and a bit baffled at the results so far.

I have some N310, which will work for sure, but wondering if anyone loaded 3N37 with better results.
I'm not really sure I want to up it to 6.8 grains to test, I'm kind of fond of my Sig 1911. :)

3N37 is a high pressure powder, best in 9mm (35,000 psi).

But there is no reason why you should not be able to get 850 to 900 fps with it. It would be better than N310.

If you have a Chrony you trust (test it with a 22) then keep adding more powder until you get your velocity, or a sign of excess pressure.

If I want velocity in 45 ACP, I use 7.0 gr of Power Pistol.

I suggest not exceeding max charge. Instead start reducing coal slightly. I bet velocity increases w velocity becoming more consistent.
Ask me how i know

^^ This makes sense.

A high pressure powder does not work well at low pressures. Seating the bullet deeper (I would not go any shorter than 1.20") will boost pressure a bit. It would help to have some crimp.

Once you start to get into a higher pressure, things will progress faster, so don't make big powder charge increments. Load 3 each of 0.2gr increments and test that.

Do You have a powder faster the 3N37 (and slower than N310)? Like N330? 231? PowerPistol?

Not made of money, but got a good deal with bulk purchase (with other people in on it).
I have it at 1.265 OAL which feeds well. 1.275 is max listed for the cartridge. I guess I was hoping to have it closer to the rifling of the barrel, but moving it back makes sense.

I only have N310 and 3N37 in this powder category, I was going to pickup N320 but it was unavailable at what I would consider a decent price.

I'll drop it back to 1.25, 1.24, etc until pressures increase and play with it until I get a consistent load. Thanks for the advice.
