rem 700 6.5x55

Did remington ever chamber this?

Dave.

Yes, in 1994, one year of the limited edition "Classic" on the 700 action...

Here's mine...

Remington 700 Classic in 6.5 X 55

I had one of the Remington 700 Classics in 6.5 X 55 and it went to Nfld.

I kind of wish I kept it but I liked my other guns better.

I kept my Remington 700 BDL in 7mm08, Sako AII 308, AIII Mannlicher 270, Brno 21H 7X57, Ruger No1 AB model in 7X57, and Browning 78 in 6mm. I had to choose and the 6.5 had to go.

Dam nice gun and it shot really well. The guy that now has it got a great gun and he knew what it was. I think it only had handling marks on it.

I bought albayo's rifle. Very happy. :wave::canadaFlag:

Meh, I'd take my rem 700 Classic over a ####-on-close 96 any day of the week. A nice 98 is a whole nother ball o wax though....:dancingbanana:
It's such a great round, I don't think it really matters what rifle it's in. ;)

I also have one of those sought-after M700 Classics in 6.5x55, but it's not for sale!! Additionally, I have a M721 Rebarrelled in 6.5x55 AI. Another rifle that stays at home. Regards, Eagleye.

You guys are really starting to upset me. All you guys are to obsesive!!! and did I mention just plain selfish!! To think that you guys are hoarding those beautys and refuse to let them branch out and find a fine new loving home like mine. Well I thought a lot more of you fellas than
that!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys should be ashamed!!!! If your conscience catches up with any of you sweedish owners. Give me a PM I always have a place for those type of orphans! LOL.

Dave.

Hell, I'll put all those Classics to shame and build a Rem 700 in 6.5x55 myself or maybe build a few and sell them to admiring customers.:D

Hang on to what you got though, I heard Remington got bought out just recently.

6.5 X 55 Remington Classic

If you really want a Remington 700 Classic in 6.5 X 55 just wait for one to come along. There are so many guns out there new and used you just have to wait for one to surface.

I waited for 5 or 6 years for a nice Springfield M 1922 target rifle, to show up for my trainer collection, and it surfaced at an odd time.
Just wait for one to show up, chances are if one appears there will be more to follow.
Or pick up a Remington and have one built.

I still prefer the M70 FWT in 6.5x55
At one time, I had a Winchester M70 FWT, a 700 Classic in 6.5x55 and a Ruger 77 Mk II in the same chambering. The Winny was the first to go, since it was the least accurate of the three. Most Military Surplus Swedes would outshoot that gun. It was a looker, and felt nice in the hands, but 1¾moa group averages don't cut it for me in that chambering, particularly since my 700 averages about ¾moa with at least 5 different loads, some are even better!
