Rem 700 peep sight options

I have an older 700 with iron sights but I’d like to replace with a peep sight. Is there a option to run a removable scope with peep sight. Didn’t see anything on the Xs sight but might have missed it?

Redfield used to make a standard scope mount that had a small flip up peep sight mounted on the rear. You could also run a rail with a small peep at the rear, behind the rear scope ring. - dan

Yes I believe I’m going to have to get creative. Xs does make a nice rail mount

Might be able to find a Williams 'Ace in the Hole' , combo rail and adjustable peep
they were a great idea but sales were slow, low demand

this is my setup not the prettiest set up but works for me. NECG ghost ring sight.

Does your rear sight use a dovetail or a screw on ? If dovetail you could slide in a bulls eye sight from marbles.

Thread on and I’d like to mine my rear sight to the rear of the receiver. Thing I’m going to try a weaver mount option

I bought 2 of them off the EE here. Put up a WTB add. Was surprised actually!

Epps had the Williams and Lyman receiver peeps last I checked. I put an old Redfield I sourced off the EE on a Remington 722 257 Roberts last summer. None of these are conducive to mounting a scope though

With the scope mounted the ghost ring sight sits up front out of the way. Remove the scope move the sight to the back. It seems to hold zero but I have only moved it a few times. Scope is in QD rings. Again not the prettiest set up but it works. Sight is not visible in the scope.

it was on a solid one pc base no windage and back in the 50's / 60's

if your rifle is tapped on the side of the receiver then marbles or williams in todays world it's a 125-200$ sight maybe more if you want fine adjustment

I have a few of them, and their is a small amount of windage adjustment on them. Not hard to slot the screw holes a little wider if you need more, though I've never tried it. - dan
