Rem 710

Sounds like everyone has a comment on the 710... How many of you keyboard experts have actually owned one.. Not the " my best friends ex-roomates , mothers half brother had one and it broke, so I think it's a piece.. but truely owned one. I'll bet 90 percent of the "keyboard experts" have never owned one and are going by what some "other " keyboard expert had to say.

I think the Jaguar is a piece of S**t....although I've never actually owned one.

I'm going to jump in on the beating up the n00b bandwagon. It's fun.

Especially when he's defending the Remington 710.
And regarding the comment about knowing if a car is crap or not before even test driving it, that's what surveys are all about there short stack.

When you get think about a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, do you think of quality?
I think of a car worth nothing to me. I'd rather spend the extra $2000 and buy a quality Japanese economy car, and get good resale value, and thus getting more money in the end.

The same can be said with the 710. Spend a bit more and you'll get more in return.

How much can you sell a used 710 for? 2/3's what the asking price is. It'd be 3/4's if it was a Remington 700.

Now go off and hide Cas. Build up your post count before you try to take on the biggest partition within CGN (apart from the pro gun group, being 99.999% of users on here.)

Hey cas... am I ever glad to meet you:)

I thought you should know that the designation "keyboard expert" is reserved for special members only.
The term "Keyboard Expert" shall be reserved for those members who do any of the following.
1) Defend a 710 Remington as anything but a POS.
2) Assume that the Gunnutz here are anything less than knowledgable.
3) Compare any firearm using an automobile analogy.

You hit a grand slam buddy... and inside of 8 posts.... nice:p

ok ok.. i see.. I have to have more than a said # of posts before I can have an opinion??? So that's how you get all the people to hate the 710.. It's all new people that aren't allowed to have an opinion yet..but merly go along to make "internet friends". Sorry I missed that rule somewhere. It's ok..I have enough friends.

And yes I have owned a 710. 3 in fact. They all did what i asked. I pulled the trigger and they went boom.. and ususally something died. Soo for all you people that think there not cute or pretty enough.. Save those terms for your shoe shopping.. and your pink purses..

SO LETS HERE FROM THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE OWENED ONE...Certainly not "cute" enough for anyone named "bigred".. But then again he has over 8000 posts..so he must be right.. cuz that makes him right.

You will get what some poor SOB is willing to pay for it! Try 3/4 of what you paid and see what someone is willing to give you. If you personally bought it, you can't be the only person out there looking for a "bargain"! (There are others just like you...really! It's true! Believe!)

My only serious complaint with it is if you are in are excited or in real hurry, the bolt jams if you pull up and back at the same time. If you take your time, it doesn't happen. Knowing that almost any hunting situatation can get your adrenaline going, it's not something I would want.

Not to worry! What's that good old American saying? "There's a sucker born every minute." You'll find yours. Noobs are everywhere.

I have sighted in and test fired approximately a dozen of the 710 Remingtons affectionately know as "The Bic Lighter of Firearms". I work in the firearms business and I shoot all manner of firearms almost every day. The 710's can be capable of good accuracy.. but they are plagued with problems... sticky bolts, bolts that fall out when being cycled, failed safetys, terrible triggers... the list goes on! The biggest problem is they have very little resale value, they lose half their value immediately when purchased.
They are the absolute worst value and lowest quality in new firearms on the market today... even a Keyboard Expert should know this.:slap:

Just to be clear, I am no expert, (keyboard or otherwise). I didn't even have a PAL when I picked up my first 710. It felt like crap and gave it back, and I'm sure I'm not the only that did this. I was in a little gunshop a while ago and made a comment about him not having any 710's on the rack. He told me he wouldn't sell them because he didn't like the bolt coming back and hitting him in the face. And lastly everyone on here (well almost everyone) hates them. In my opinion, where there is smoke there is fire. Survey says 710=crap.

CAS, three 710's?

Let me guess, the first two broke? and the third hasnt quite yet.
Give it a few weeks.
How about you do yourself a favour mr 8 posts... Do a search on the 710, and maybe your noob self will see that we've been there, seen it, done it, and got the tshirt.
I love rifles that the bolt flops around like a button on a ####house door when you fire it.

There you have it, I've obviously fired a 710 before.

How come the 710=Junk is almost unanimous but the membership here bickers about SKS=Junk???? Baffles me.

Because the SKS goes for about $150, ammo is dirt cheap, and nobody expects accuracy. If it pretended to be a hunting or target rifle, I'm sure most would hate it.
