I haven't shot a 770. It's designed to be cheap, and from the reviews, that's what you get. I didn't think it would be worthwhile trying one. Are the new Marlins not made by Remington now? I recall some complaints about Marlin's recent quality. I even had problems with a recent (2005) Remington 700 and (2007) 11-87. Not impressed with their fit and finish.
I bought an Axis from Wholesale Sports during their boxing 2-week sale. I wasn't expecting much, but the trigger is actually pretty good on mine. Not too much to complain about for a $250 rifle that comes with a mounted Bushnell scope.![]()
Thats what I figured Axis is the way to go,thanks for all the replies.
Any more good deals on these anywhere.
Not telling you how to spend your money but why not kick in the extra $100 and get either a Savage fxp111 or a Remington 700 sps DM?.....
I think they would make you happier in the long run....
The complaint is that you have to waste youtime taking off the crappy chinese scope Bushnell put their name on and go to the effort o finstalling and boresighting something better.... this goes for both the 770 and axis packages....
The Axis is marginally better than the 770.... If it was all I could afford I would buy one and hunt with it....
