Rem Mod 700 Mountain SS

If i were to purchase a new rifle, id have a good look at the Mountain SS.
Who has one an how does it stack up?
I figure the price may be a little higher than average?

I'd toss up between a 708 and a 308 for the SA approach.

Stock also looks like a very good stock unlike the SPS (which i own )

Any one else interested?
 
I wonder how long until it reaches Aus shores! maybe i have time to save up.. id imagine the price would be alot more than the sps... understandably so for what appears to be a top line rifle!
 
My main concern would be quality control. There was a poll a while ago about problems with new firearms. Remington and Marlin (owned by Remington) did very poorly. Tikka and Savage did very well.

Keeps the drones from buying up all the Remingtons and Kimbers :D

Kidding! Savage is doing some cool schit as far as twist rates and chamberings go, I wish other companies would take a page out of their book.

By all means 1899, buy em up :D. Theres 2 Model 700 LSS Mountain .280's at Epps, and I hope they sit there until they blow them out the door clearance style so I can snag one :p

Those Mountain LSS's are notorious for numerous bugs, gremlins, shingles, nats, and other accuracy inhibiting insects. cou:

"Clearance price" is actually what they are worth, given the quality....;)

FYI Lebaron is clearing them out. A shop in Vancouver was also clearing them out - just over $700iirc, but that sale is over.

I only wish store owners had that mentality :D

I dont see any .280 LSS Mountains on clearance on Le Baron?? Just the normal 859$ price, and none in .280 :confused:
