Wow. Just spoke to Goble's. He said the RCMP website has crashed. I placed an order for a Walther PPQ45 on their website last night and woke up to this news. Lucas at Goble's said he had an inkling it was coming down today, came into work early and got the transfer initiated on his end with a transfer number before the website went down. This may be one of the last transfers out there. Glad to get my number but very sad at the politicization of a sport, hobby and general freedom that thousands of Canadians and their families enjoy. This is the type of crass politics that creates further divisions in our country but that is nothing new for this brand of government which is not only the trend in Canada, but across the world in this era.
Transitional Provision
2 Section 4.1 of the Conditions of Transferring Firearms and Other Weapons Regulations does not apply in respect of the transfer of a handgun to an individual if the transferor sought the authorization of the chief firearms officer, as defined in subsection 2(1) of the Firearms Act, to transfer the handgun under paragraph 23.2(1)(d) of that Act before the day on which these Regulations come into force.
Just make sure you check first if you can get refunded (if that's what you want) if it doesn't go through.
Some retailers have a credit only policy if the transfer fails.
