So I picked up my R1E today and fed 100 rounds of Federal 230 RN thru it. I am very pleased so far with the performance so far. Had 2 FT feeds, both second to last rounds in the mags. I bought an extra 8 round Remington mag but I dunno if it was one or more mags that had issue.
Build quality is very good and tight though grip screws were loose and trigger feels like it's gonna fall out.
Ergo wise the stock Laminate grips are very grippy complimented by fore serrations and rear checkering including on memory bump. I have a couple pairs of Houge thin grips coming since the stock ones tend to be a tad thick for my hands.
I seem to get consistent tight groups and better accuracy compared to my Steyr M9. Trigger pull is short and very crisp.
Though I can't compare it to any other 1911s, I really like this gun, it is my favorite in my small collection thus far. My wife even likes it, but mainly because it's easier to load the mags than my M9.
Another 200 rounds tomorrow.
