The Vanguard is obviously costing Remington some sales....especially in the 257 W chambering..now they have to play catchup....if they offer a 26" tube it'll sway a lot of guys looking at the Vanguard 257W

I think they still chamber the XCR in 338 Ultra

the VTR has a triangular shaped semi heavy contour barrel, with a green SPS varmint looking stock. Its priced around $800 I think. It also has a magnaport type brake on the top of the muzzle

all that 'triangular barrel' really is is a regular heavy contour barrel with three bigass flutes, that you apparently pay $400 for.

and the VTR for $750-850
