Remington 2008 Sneak

What Tod forgot to mention is that the VTR actually uses triangular bullets.I guess they make a real mess of varmints, so it isn't a good choice for anything you might want to save the pelts on.:p

i found the "book of remington" special edition G&A while waiting at the airport last nigh
of course i had to buy it after tbs post....if you are a reminton fan it isn't a bad read....

Well I've been kickin around the idea of a hyper .25 and the 257 WM was at the top of my list....I have hesitated on the Vangard for about 6 months now....but with this news of the LSS ....Well Pud at Bashaw just took my order for a nice new shiny one. I'm also considering the CDL limited edition 260 ...hmmm that would make three 260's I would own???? Not so reasonable I guess

Model Seven 25th anniversary model chambered in 7-08 Rem with a 22" tube
Does Remington make a Model Seven with 22" bbl. chambered in .243 Win?

That green monstrosity with the huge flat flutes and big chunks outta the muzzle will sell to Remmy fans for sure :D It would be uber-cool with a Nightforce 5.5-24X50 scope with a 6" sunshade and Harris bipod up front. Todbartel, we need you're Photoshop talents to outfit that sucker for a special preview ;) :D

In the Remington product planning department:

Bob: "how can we continue our tradition of lowering production costs and quality on the old Varmint series yet keep selling them to gun snobs?"
Bill: "Pfft.. why set your sights so low Bob, what you should be asking is how can we reduce production costs and raise prices by several hundred bucks!!"
Bob: "Haha Bill, you sly dog"

**thinking**

Bill: "Bigger flutes?"
Both: "YESSSSSSSSSSS!!"

I guess the engineers at Rem didn't get the memo that fluting can lead to some funcky accuracy issues.

Now what would happen if that is not a perfectly equilateral triangle?????

Or chambered perfectly plumb with the scope????

What if the wind blows? Would you have to hold MORE into the wind?

Might just have to get one and see what happens.

Regarding the 257 WM comming out for '08.....With the exception of the WSM line I have never seen Remington make a rifle they didn't pack ammo for. Weatherby ammo = $80+ per box of 20...making this a reloaders rifle for sure unless a cheaper alternative was available. I reload anyways so makes no difference to me ..but how about others??? Are the CDL SF barrels heavier than the LSS barrel?

i like the VTR its different. i also own a cynergy shot that alot of people dont like the looks off. and specs on it? barrel length, calibers?

VTR I believe is 223 1-9 twist or 308 1-12 only

the LSS 257 will be a limited run so Im sure they are betting on rifle loonies to scoop them up.

aaaaand the barrel diameter at the muzzle of my CDL SF 30-06 is .652" and the diameter of my LSS 280 is .670" so I assume the 260 will be somewhere around the same

Triangular barrel???? Pure genius. I remember when square speakers came on the market too. Trust remington to bring yet another rifle into their lineup of low grade shooting hardware. Thats right TB i said it, you browning hater.:)
