Early 700 ADLs had no bolt jeweling. I’ll stick to those.

I dont know why this was such a big deal on this thread. I like the bolts jewelled. I have a rifle that is mint less this bolt wear. I could have it redone.
Maybe it 100.00 to do. I wouldnt do it for design purposes alone, more cosmetic for me
You know we will all lose are guns to Trudeau, because we fight over stupid #### like this.
We are Good, we both like Remingtons. I need to word thngs better. Sorry as well.
Even own a remington rifle rest lol. In deep. All my bolt actions are 700s, Less a couple cooeys
Take care
I would like to know the value for a remington model 700 adl in 30-06. It's made in the 80's and in really good shape.
It's got the blind magazine and not the hinge like the bdl has so would that affect value at all?
Thanks
You're bringing me back in time. My very first bolt action rifle was the Remington 700 ADL, chambered in the 30-aught-six. I purchased it in 1985 with ring and scope for $250. Not that it would cost that today, probably more money, pending the condition.
It does affect the value. More wear on bolt to unload. Grade in order is CDL, BDL and ADL. 3006 is not that uncommon. Price is based on condition but no more the 800 if almost new in present market. NIB is different. Can be found cheaper but sell fast
Bolt wear affects price. Bolt diamond pattern finish wears with use.
Is that seriously an issue? I haven't noticed any difference in my ADL 243 I've had since 1975.
Question.... what is jeweling for. anyone?
Mainly aesthetics. However, lubricants become trapped in the small scratches caused by the swirled pattern produced by a mild abrasive that's applied onto a bolt’s surface, and this enhances lubricity so that the bolt will cycle a little more smoothly.jeweling is no issue, but it changes value if NiB is your thing. Its surface
