Just bought this rifle yesterday. I always wanted a nice long action rifle, and the Remington 700 BDL Custom Deluxe in .270 Win. fits the bill. I was amazing suprised on how light it was when I first picked it up. 1/3 the weight of my M700P, and half the weight of my M14. I can effortly balance this rifle with my pinky finger.
I bought this rifle for target/plinking. I'm not much of a hunter, but I love long range target shooting. I generally use my M14S and M700P, but they're short action .308's, finally I got a sweet long action heavy hitter.
This rifle was made flawlessly. The high-gloss walnut stock is amazing and complements the high-rich blued finish to a T. Right out of the box, accuracy was unmatched. I was prepared to make several windage and elevation adjustments but that wasn't the case. I cleaned it before the range session and noticed barrel fowling, so I'm assuming it was sighted in at the factory
I was thrilled with it's performance and accuracy right out of the box. 50 yard bench rest groupings where extremly tight with it's open rifled sights. The trigger is more heavier than I'm use to, it's set at around 9 lbs (as apposed to 2.5 lbs) I love the feeling of the power from the .270 Win...big difference from .308 Win. I cant wait for the summer so I can go up north and do some 100/200 yard target shooting. I give this rifle a full 10 out of 10 in quality, accuracy, price, craftsmanship, and an over all kick-a*s hunting/target rifle
