I'm buying a Remington 700 in 300rum after work today, I'm undecided, a sendero for 1399$, or the lint range fur 860$, I'm looking at doing 1000y this year and hopefully 1 mile next year. Is the sendero really worth nearly twice as much?
The website says that the long range has the bell Carlson stock, is the house precision that much better? I was also told the sendero starts off as a Remington 700 and then goes to the Remington custom shop, any truth to this? As for optics, I would like to get sightron, but if I spend the extra $ on the sendero I may have to use my Bushnell 4.5-14 that I already have to start off with until I gather enough funds for a high end optic, the 14x with 40moa could get me up to around 800y.
Sorry I thinking of the SPS long range.
The HS stock should offer no advantage over the B&C.
With the 300rum your barrel life will be to short to use a "start off optic". If you have to save money on the optic get a Bushnell elite tac 10x40 fixed.
How far can I get with the Bushnell 10-40 with a 20 moa base?
Congrats on the new gun!
It has 80moa of elevation travel.
With a 30moa rail and 230gr berger you should be able to make a mile.
I would go with a 40moa rail and a sightron siii 6-24x50. (On my savage 110ba with a 40moa rail and a siii 6-24 i ended up with 94.5 moa of "up" from my 100 yard zero)
Thanks, I'm just getting into the long range game, longest shot I've made on a deer was 449 yards, so this is going to be a steep learning curve. Nosler has a new 210g accubond LR Bullet with a bc of .730 that I'm looking at trying out. The sightron siii 6-24 would be a very nice piece of glass on top of the rum for sure!
