They are decent actions but there is always better. one of the reasons Remington actions are so popular is the plethora of aftermarket parts and accessories.
The 700 action is still a good action? I've heard so many bad things about Remington QC.
Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 How does it shoot??
Thanks
Have you actually experienced any problems with a 700 action? I've owned at least (15) over the years and never had an issue with any. The SPS doesn't have the nice bluing or jewled bolt that the BDL's have but they're still the same basic action that has been around for almost 50 years now.
I asked this because I'm interested in the 700 AAC-SD version, I never had any Remington guns before.
also take a look at the Savage 10PC it has a 20" barrel and the new ones are also threaded, I bought one when they first came out and its a shooter but I wish I would've gotten the threaded one to put on a brake for spotting my own shots at closer ranges
x2. My PC10 is a real shooter with factory loads.EDIT~it is a .223

Slopok, have the same setup minus the brake and a different scope. What's your opinion on the millet scope? I have the trophy xlt 4-12x40 with the doa reticle, although I like the scope, recticle and think the clarity isn't to bad the eye relief is horrible. My gun fund isn't huge at the moment but I'm considering the millet 6-25x56mm with mildot and I'm looking for a little feedback on this product, if anyone else has some suggestion on a similiar scope in the $500 range feel free to chip in.

I'm looking for my first tactical/precision .308 and I'm looking at this rifle. The price is right and I want something compact. Does the 20'' affect accuracy or vélocity?
Your overall tought about the Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308??
Thanks
I looked at one the other day. It is HUGE. I'd handle one before buying.
Any idea of weight? Clarity? Eye relief? And any chance you looked at the 4-16?
