I have a Remmington 7400 in .243 and it looks like the (plastic?) ejection port cover has separated (broken) in front of the cocking handle. Questions....
1. Is this plastic piece prone to breaking on these rifles?
2. Will the rifle function properly with this piece broken?
3. Are there any more durable replacement pieces available.
I see that Brownells has these listed for about $5.00 and also saw on the net that they can be replaced by removing the cocking handle and sliding in a new one. Any help would be appreciated.
