Rem 525
These were made in Brazil for Remington, modelled after the Remington 511 but not on the same level of quality. These were an economy rifle, and were also sold here in Canada as the CIL 171 I believe, but I could be wrong on the CIL model number. I`ve had a few over the years, decent South American hardwood on them, decent shooters, but two I owned actually had the front dovetailed sight machining leave a light depression in the rifling in the barrel. I`ve bought and sold them in the $50 to $125 range. They are a decent starter rifle, and great for shortening barrels and stocks on them as they have no value outside of being a shooter. All things aside, I prefer the Remington logo on the barrel over the CIL stamp - just reminds me of other rifles in the stable. Cheers.
