My father has owned a 760 in 30-06 since long before I was born. He still hunts with it now. We were talking about it the other day and he described it as "consistently reliable and accurate, but not exactly high end". I shot it a fair bit when I was a youngster learning to shoot. My memories of it reflect his opinion.
My grandfather also has a 760 in .308. And has had since before my father had his. I took my first WT buck with this gun and it operated just fine.
I wouldn't buy one myself as I am a much bigger fan of bolt guns, but I do hope that I will inherit one or both of these guns, but as far into the future as possible.
