Remington Model Seven Thread

The last time was just over a year ago and was direct order, it was a good stock. The time before that was direct order too, sent back with chips, crooked studs and wrong colors. The customer service is still good but I think the people building the stocks were learning…

I'm looking forward to this thread. I have a model seven SS in .308 win. Wanting to swap stocks and likely a different barrel, it might stay as a 308 but not 100% sure yet.

No need for a Brown stock - The Wild Cat is as good as it gets at a Much Cheaper Cost . JMO RJ

Unless you enjoy messing around inletting, painting, padding a gunstock, a McMillan is the cheapest and best stock imo. And they aren’t as good as they used to be.

HS Precision still offers a stock for the Seven and was even a factory option by Rem at one point.

whats the price for one of these barreled actions? I was told this was a good upgrade candidate for my Ruger American Predator.

They are not offered in a barrelled action currently or in the past (someone correct me if needed on this).

Your only option is to source a complete rifle and then re stock it at a later date. Current prices range from $900-$1500 depending on which model Seven is being offered, condition etc.

All I can say is the same Remington execs that ran the company into the ground the first time missed the boat, a big boat, by not making the sweet Model 7 rifles in left hand. Even today if the made that change I think they'd sell tons plus actions that smiths can square up and hang quality barrels on.

A couple of model sevens that will handle all my needs from gophers to grizzlies . 260 Remington stainless in a McMillan stock and a KS 350 Remington magnum. Stock bedding and paint work by Mitch Kendall. M

He sure does fabulous work.
At least the eyes behold the glory.

Rem Model 7

I have one Model 7. It's in .223 Rem.

Had the factory 18 1/2" pencil barrel swapped out for a 24" sporter take off barrel from a Model 700.

Shoots great & I like it.

Nice setup sir, and oddly those recoil pads don’t look that out of place on your builds. Kudos
