Okay, one more try.
Someone, somewhere, has a Rem pump with a trashed barrel: blown up, or bent, bulged or rusted, doesn't matter. It may be in a closet, under a bench, or languishing in a pile of junk because it won't shoot well at all.
Or, perhaps it's cheap because it has been abused, beat up and down, no bluing left, dents in the stock, scratches and dings on the metal, but is a fully functional rifle.
We want to make it proud!

Got a 760 30-06, was looking for a 7600 in 35Whelan, but talked myself into a model 700 .35 Whelan that showed up at Shooter's Den. Doubt if a big game animal would know the difference between a 35 Whelan loaded with 250Gr. bullets and a 9.3, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
You can rebarrel mine for free! But I want it back once your done!
Look for a 742, go all out and build an auto loader.
I've considered it as one bad shoulder ( left ) would appreciate not having to cycle a pump.

I have one in 30-06 that meets some of the above criteria, still has most of the bluing on the receiver. It has a 742 barrel with the hole plugged.
I works fine. I was planning to use it for a 338-06 build, that I'm probably not going to get around to, so may dispose of it someday.
Partypooper I am, but it's too late now, esp with the looming mail strike. That and loading work leaves it too late.Where are you blacklab? This needs to happen before moose season is upon us.

If your man doesn't want to do it, I will go ahead with it, and start a new thread for a semi.

I know you like to protest and fight it, but you know you want to use a 366 Wagner Jerk-O-Matic.
