Any one have any experince with one of these?
I was thinking of geting one and ripping it apart for the upper and lower, Is it marked DPMS? and do I need to beed blast of that camo or is that heat shrink stuff? and is the R-25 on the camo or on the receiver (laser / ingraved)

Any thoughts would be nice.............. or if someone has an SR25 they want to sell you could save me alot of trouble and I'd have the one I realy want:D
 
I was kind of thinking the same thing. I figure you could just paint over that camo probably. Maybe there is the DPMS finish under the camo though so it might be worth taking some kind of solvent or brake cleaner to it and see if the camo comes off that way.

I have a friend with one but he's been out of the country for a couple months. I haven't heard too much about them but they are the same uppers and lowers as my DPMS so part should be no problem to get. the only marking I remember seeing is R-25 I don't think there are any DPMS markings on the lower. It was built as a hunting rifle but might make a good platform to build on.
 
Dont feel like digging it out of the safe right now but i will check tomorrow. The camo is that dipping process they use for everything. Looks white underneath. You could sand it down or scuff it up and paint it if you want a different color. The r-25 is etched I think but will check for sure tomorrow. It is marked remington, not dpms.
 
The R25 is anodized and then water transfer is used to apply the camo. The parts that don't get the paint, like inside the magwell, are black.

ok to end the confusion....

SR-15 and SR-25 are the KAC rifles... ie: Knights Arm.

the R-15 and R-25 are the remington rifles.... most of which are camo coloured.

It's funny to watch people on this forum rave about the Chinese guns that have the finish run off with CLP, and yet ##### and complain about the ghey finish of the Remingtons....with a pricetag difference of about $150.
 
Thanks guys, I want to hold out for a SR25 but may start on a budget one till I can find one. Kevin promised me a knights rifle in 2002 I still rass him every now and then, but with todays expot regs a new SR-25 is not likely, unless its very gray (not for me) Maby some one will take obama to the range and he will do a 360 and say guns for every one, and maby the firearms laws will start to make sence............gess its a DPMS or R25

I have yet to see a M305 with a factory barrel shoot anything close to my R15. That is a sample set of many M305s vs on R15, and maybe I got lucky with my R15, but it handily beats a 305 in terms of accuracy. Don't get me wrong, having one 305 for each hand for the same amount of $ as the R15 is not without advantages, but my r15 makes it to the range a bunch more then any of my 305s.
