Remington Special Run?

Mossberg (and probably Remington) doesn't have the balls to build anything nearly that cool and edgy.

I am pretty sure a company that puts a 50 cal style muzzle brake on a rimfire is "cool and edgy" enough to build what you propose, which is something that makes bile rise to the back of my mouth.

Model seven stainless, 22" fluted barrel, walnut or laminate, chambered in all SA factory rounds based on the .308 (#1 .338 fed, then 308, 243, 7/08)

Here is the awnser right here.

I was looking at Model Seven XCR last week and admit it was a sweet little rifle, but I have only ever seen them in 300 WSM and 243 Win. I would want one somewhere in the middle of those, like a 7-08 or a 308.

On that note, i managed to track down a stainless/synthetic M7 in 308, so next time the postman comes to the door with a long skinny box, i may lose a bit of piss due to excitement.:redface:

I think Ruger should make their Alaskan rifle in the 450 Marlin with a Grey Laminated stock. I would definitely cough up some gems for that! At least it's a controlled round feed action.

Considering the popularity of the left hand Alaskan's with grey laminated stocks wouldn't it be just as easy for them to produce a 'limited' run in right hand models.

They already produced right hand laminated stocks, though not grey. Throw on some grey laminated, and bolt them to the existing Alaskan models in both .375 & .416 Ruger, done deal! It's literally as easy as putting a grey blank on the machine nothing more, nothing 'custom' and it beats the hell out of the Hogue abominations!

This thread is going quite differently than the No.1 in .303 British. I didn't get a .303 because I was only interested in an RSI version, but at least there we had the model and chambering nailed down. Here we have almost as many opinions as posts. Perhaps the better way would be to narrow it down a little. For example - Model Seven only, stainless only and choice of x, y or z chambering. My vote still goes for a classic chambering - .300 H&H, .250-3000 etc.

1) Stainless
2)Laminate/ walnut
3) I think it should be a Remington Chambering..22-250,6mm,260,280,7 rem.

If they made a 7 saum Sendero old style HS stock..I would pay today..lol

I vote for a model 7 with a 22 inch ultralight barrel in 308win. Stainless steel with a synthetic stock. If Remington made that, I would buy it.

The last 3 700 CDL SF's I've bought were going to be custom rifles.

Had the parts lined up for a 257 Weatherby, then Remington came out with one.

Was thinking what barrel to buy for a 264 Win Mag, then Remington came out with one.

Since I didn't use the 257 barrel I was thinking about a 257 Roberts, then
Remington came out with one.

Since i also have a 250 Ackley and 25/06 in 700's I'm thinking a
CDl SF in 250 Savage would be just the rifle I need.

Maybe if I gather some more parts Remington will come out with one just before I build it..

Fingers crossed:D

We can't get more than two guys to agree on anything, much less 50.

Might as well just order 50 Ti actions and sell 'em off. Then everyone gets what they want. :D

.280 Ross in a M700 Sendero (need UMC to do a special run of ammo, too)
.303 British in a M7600
.22 hornet in a 700 BDL
.284 winchester in a M700

CDL SF in 6.5-06 would be pretty cool too.

Mossberg is definately not cool. Looks like
one of those wieners who wear a sharp suit
with runners, except the suit is ugly too. Whats
wrong with a really short bolt in .350 Remington
Mag? Think of it as the ultimate incarnation of
the model 7. Or model 7 meets express rifle. Maybe
a few barrel length options. And classy, not like
the Mossbergs. Blech. :)

There's been a lot of interest here concerning a potential special run of Ruger #1 rifles in 303 British.
So, I thoght I'd throw this out there:
I was at a trade show a few days ago and was told by the Remington reps that they would do a run of as few as 50 rifles.
Now, here's a can of worms? Anybody have any ideas?

700 Classic in .303 British? Might be easier to do on a 798 action...
