Hello everyone, I have been having problems with my SPS Varmint in .204. It does not want to shoot consistenly. I have a good scope on it (Elite 3200), im shooting Winchest Supreme Ballistic SilverTip (32 gr). Shooting off of a bench (at 85 yrds) with a bipod and a rolled up glove underneath the butt it shoots eradically. I would have no problem blaming the inconsistancy on myself, but off this exact bench, at the exactly the same distance i can shoot a 1/2 inch group with my .17 HMR. I have also had other (more experienced) people shoot the gun with the same result. The bullet spread varies from 1/2 inch, all the way to 3-4 inches. The gun is new and only has about 60-80 rounds through it. It has been cleaned recently, the action is smooth, everything feels right but it just doesnt shoot well. There was one case where i shot a 3 shot group under 1/2 inch, i was extatic so i shot another group and it was everywhere. I have not been able to get a group under 4 inches other than that one time. I am very new to the sport so i would appreciate any advice/opinions on what you think the problem may be.
