Remmie vs. Mossie

Well, I kind of like a shotgun with a simple BUIS, a sling and a bustock shell holder. My preference, but I agree, I would not add a lot of weight or encubrances, I would prefer simpler utility.

Having said that, I would disagree with you here TDC:

"The same attributes that allow them to shine at trap and skeet are not desirable in a defensive firearm nor are they attributes for two gun or three gun competitions."

Semi-auto shotguns are very reliable. They had growing pains and admittedly, need to wear away old notions of unreliability, but the reputation of semi-autos are growing positively.

What makes a Remi 870 more reliable than a Mossy 500? Reputation is 90% and weight likely makes up for the rest. Remis are like bricks and they don't need to be. Nothing more than a feeling here in my opinion. Adoption by LE? Yes. Goes back decades. Mossbergs, I am told, have passed more stringent testing than Remis have...now if I could only find that reference. I think it was a 30,000 round test. Remis failed.

It was a 3000 round test, I remember the Mossberg ads from that period clearly. IMO 3K rounds isn't much of a stretch from any decent pump design, let alone the 870 which it seems the majority of top tier Western miltary units chose to use.

What gun do you shoot that has an "adjustable Choke" Most of us are using removeable Chokes.
You have seen Adjustable chokes, right?,my old Ithaca had a Poly choke before I got the barrel choped. It was kind of a neet thing,But I didn't needed it,so off it went.

Adjustable Shotgun Choke For Any Shooting Situation

Adjustable to nine constriction settings, these heavy-duty chokes allow you to select the proper choke for the type of shotgun shooting you’re doing. Based on the original Poly-Choke design, this new generation is fully adjustable from extra-full, to reverse choke and will handle all shotgun loads including lead slugs, heavy shot, and steel. Uses a unique, rotating method that gives you and audible “click” into place with clearly marked choke settings so finding just the right choke is simple and quick. No more fumbling around with a pocket full of choke tubes. Wrench included.

SPECS: CNC machined high tensile steel. Blued. Available for vented Remington, Browning Invector, and Beretta/Benelli 12 gauge shotguns.

Originally this post was about the comparison of two Pump guns. But yet again you have to get on your "Pedestal" and turn it into another "Tactical post".

How many threads do stays on track?POLY-CHOKE II
