Hello Gunsmiths,
I have an older Remmington 742 Woodmaster semi-auto 30-06. In the summer, at the range, it works well. But when hunting weather comes it jams when loading the last shell. The lever on the clip that is suppose to lock the bolt open, after the last round is fired, caused the last shell to partially enter the breach and jam. It is quite a trick to unjam. Last time, it fired when I unjammed it. This scared me and I have not used it since.
Is this a repairable problem? Or is this gun a write-off? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DW_Crash
