Hello I have a slight problem I'd like to fix. I have an Ithaca 72 Saddle gun and a M88 that both have their front sight removed intentionally or accidentally I do not know. I have two hoods and two rifles I would like to put the hoods back on but short of pulling the bottoms apart and risk miss shaping them with some pliers I have no idea how to go about remounting the hoods.
I really want to put the Ithaca's hood back on so if you know how short of a visit to a gun smith please let me know. I have no conflicting issues so its a strait forward procedure of putting it on.
Now for the M88 is a little more interesting I have a scope mounted and I'm curious that if I put the hood on would it interfere with my view from my scope? The scope is about 3 mm above the top of my receiver/ejector so it is mounted close or almost flush. Is it worth remounting it or should I just save it for a time when I might pull the scope off?
Please let me know how to put them on if you know how.
