removal of m305 muzzlebreak/flash hider.

I do no see a weld anywhere on this flash hidder.
This rifle has a 2013 sn from what I see, is there any chance they didn't do it in this year?

Does your flashider have 2 discoloured blobs right behind the bayonet lug, or 2 holes?
If 2 holes, you're in the clear, if discoloured blobs, then those are the welds.
 
Yup, whack it off and toss that POS high school shop class D+ grade flash hider into the recycle bin. I got mine from keepshooting.com best $35 I ever spent.

BONUS! The new one is straight LOL
 
Of course your gunsmith won't touch it, he is likely OT as crazy as we are. For many of you '14 CGNutters who have been around this forum for many years you all realize what an addiction this is and know that the bubba method of knocking off the flash suppressor u it requires very specialized body of knowledge that no intelligent and rational gunsmith school will teach. :)

Now that you have that flash hider off it's a matter of swapping your gas cylinder lock with all kinds of clinic attendees until your gas Cinderella up at six o'clock by snugging up at four or five o'clock and the. Rubber mallet to six o'clock or bottom dead center.

Come to my clinic and be enlightened. I've taught this barbaric method to two law enforcement armorer groups already. Yuk yuk yuk. I will never tell you who they are unless you show up for more jokes.

No blobs that I can see, I do see some little cut outs under the collar that may be the holes your talking about, I will take some pictures of it.
 
The blobs may be two 1/4" dots of slightly off-colour steel where the weld is a different composition than the flash suppressor. Imagine two felt marker spots on the black steel.
 
only way for me to really know i guess is dig out the castle wrench and see if it comes off.
i dont see anything that looks like a weld or spot weld ect.
 
A couple of the Norinco shortys I worked on wernt spot welded at all. Most are and after a couple good whacks the welds break free.
 
Sort of nice to know that 28,000 views and I don't even remember how many years later we are still helping people remove their flash hiders. That became my "job" at the clinics in Vancouver, to the point that I was getting bored with being the flash hider guy. Those were fun. Need to have more of them.

I do wonder about the two "dislikes". What is there to dislike? No comments left so they didn't feel strongly enough about it to let us know what they didn't like so...?

Yeah, but that "Bubba method" was developed by one of the best M-14 smiths in the country and I'd be willing to be it has removed more M-14 flash hiders than the "gun smith" has seen in his life. Results speak for themselves.

One of the dislikes to the video was some clown on the practical machinst forum who thinks he's "all that. He even started a thread trashing the m14doctor LOL. Except that it's you in the vid hehehe
