a few months ago I took my rifle to a local gunshop and well known sponsor on this site to fit a scope for me.

They took the gun/scope and told me to come back in an hour. When I got back he had loctite'd the scope to the scope rings without even fitting the gun to me.

I took a look in the store and it seemed fine, so i ignored it. But I've realized after hunting and plinking with the rifle that the scope is too far forward. The scope has also smashed 3 different people in the forehead and caused bleeding due to its awkward position.

Is there any way for me to move the scope further back without ugly rings left on the scope from solvent?

A pencil style soldering iron should work by heating the screws so it will release the loctite then you could re position it, there should be no loctite or ring marks on the tubes themselves

That sounds like he put loctite on the inside surface of the rings and on the scope tube.

Use the methods or proper release agent available from the manufacturer . A bit of heat may work depending on what was used.

Blue loctite is usually easy to remove, Ive never had to heat it yet, but if you want to it won't hurt.
if your close to the store that installed the scope take it back to them and have them move it for you.

If the scope is too far foreward, you will have to place your face too far foreward, and will not have a proper cheek weld or be able to properly position the butt in your shoulder. When you fire it, improper grip/cheekweld/stance/etc all added together can make it so that the whole gun can move in your grip and can kiss you. I don't know if that's clear, but it makes sense in my head. I know what you're talking about OP.

FWIW: On a gun, forward is the direction the bullets travel. Backward is towards the butt.
