Removing stock from CZ858 - What friggin size of screwdriver?!!

Great that it worked out, yes you need 2 people, otherwise you risk some bruising and scratches and (worse) damage to your holy gun!

Why get rid of folding stock?. Will it fit on the regular full stock cz858. If you are getting rid of folding stock i will gladly take it of your hands.

hehe nope, not getting rid of it. I am working on a project (hush hush for now), and I needed it off to work on some measurments, etc.

I am also going to be painting my rifle and want to go a good job, not some "eddy the car guy" style paint job haha
 
I do lots so i made the ultimate tool. Works awesome.

I used an Oversived flat top screwdriver. It' about 3/8" across the flat but you might get away with up to 5/8". It also has a hexagon section just ahead of the handle so you can put an adjustable or a box end wrench on it for a little extra torq. Then I just clamped the rifle between my kness and twisted.
 
All I want for Christmas is to get this friggin stock nut off!! Holy Crap did they weld this on or what??? I got the tire iron and that didnt work... went to Princess Auto and got the biggest screwdriver they had and THAT didn't work... Actually ended up bending the tip of the screwdriver...

So now i'm thinking on getting an impact screwdriver and trying that.... getting frustrated here and thats not a good thing... :ar15:

Anyone know where I can get the impact screwdriver and screwdriver tip to fit in the GTA area??? Princess Auto didnt have any...

Merry Christmas!

I just had my father hold the rifle super stiff, while I pushed down and turned with a tire iron....but it may also help that I work out a lot and have the muscle to do it.... Not saying you are weak, just saying I can't judge your strength over a forum!

Have someone hold the rifle, while you turn.
 
I had one that came off rather easily and another that I actually had to cut the stock down to the bolt head , then turn the bolt head with vice grips. For the last one I just about tried every tire iron available and it just kept slipping out of the slot. Thats when I had enough of that and just hacksawed the damn thing off. I know it is a little bit of butchery, but man was that particular one in there solid.
 
I cheated... I cut my stock off with a saw then extracted the bolt with a pair of vise grips. But that was after I chewed up the heads of both my big-assed flatheads AND my tire iron.
 
One can try an old chisel and grind the edge flat so it'll fit the screw slot. How about the Czech Arms pieces, aren't they staked in?

The problem is like you said I need someone or something to hold onto the rifle. Maybe get a vice setup as My wife wasn't able to hold on so I could get enough force..

I'm thinking on trying the ezout idea as it looks like the bolt is hollow in the middle.... hmmm

But what do they use to put that bolt in .... a friggin jackhammer?!?!?! :rolleyes:

Use a hack saw and cut the wooden stock off just above the bolt. Then you have more options.
