So I have a 1954 Tula SKS, when I first got it I stripped it all down and cleaned the cosmoline off it. At the time I had to take a screw driver and really press hard to disengage the small button behind the trigger guard which allows the trigger group to drop free. After cleaning it I reassembled it and really had to slam the trigger group down hard to get the button to engage again. Problem now is, I want to remove the trigger group and it will not come out now. I can push the button in and it seems as though it is not going in far enough to disengage from the trigger group. I tried everything including beating it with a copper hammer, still won't budge. Any tips? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think so. Also another question, when the bolt and bolt handle are assembled together, the bolt handle piece rubs on the metal around the gas piston over top the chamber, it just rubs on one side like it is off center (which it obviously is). I can pull it to the side and it won't rub, or if I let the bolt fly it hits it hard enough to bounce over to the side and slide over it. Is this normal?
