restoring a enfield p14 help/ parts sources requested

got a bubba p14 sporter, , then got another with ONLY the wood cut down .

i would like to restore that to military dress.

any sources to reccomend ? i have an ad in the milsurp parts section !!

i need following .............. the full lenth stock / both hand guards, front and middle barrel bands .

any help most welcomed / pm me with info or post advise.

Numrich may still have some parts. They are running low but check their site. As for furniture, you are on a teasure hunt there. Check ebay daily and surf the web.
 
A few months ago i got a stock set from Sarco inc. They had them listed as "out of stock" for months, then they were available for a day or two, before going out of stock again. Who knows when will be the next lucky day...
 
The hardest item to get is the stock, some times they are up on ebay, ut be prepared to pay for a ood one.
NOS hand guards are in stock at numrich now, both walnut and hardwood.

Gunparts lists the hand guards under 'Enfield' page 4. $24ish US plus their exporting fee. No stocks.
Try Western Gun Parts too.
 
boyds stock 144$ plus 54$ postage ...................if i cant find a dp or an original this will be my fall back plan ...................i see various bits and pieces / bands on flea bay .
 
I bought a full stock, plus rear handguard on ebay recently. Came out to just over $300 to my door... definitely a bit pricey, but Numrichs $80 shipping and import fee is hefty too for collecting parts. Im gather parts for my P14 and 2 other Enfields and almost ready to do a Numrich order so its worth while.
 
I just finished "restoreing" a P14 using DP wood, I bought a bunch of parts from numrich, and the rest from Ebay, The DP wood was in poor condition and cost $100 shipped to me. Keep an eye on EE for complete rifles, sometimes its possible to pickup a complete for 350-450 and then transfer the stock. As long as its not an original rifle !! This can actually be cheaper than finding all the necessary parts. Just a thought.
 
took me 5 years to complete my p14 build, had all parts and upper wood just never a stock, let some pass on the EE as they wanted over half of what a complete military config rifle is worth. I may have a few spare metal parts kicking around, if you cant find something let me now and i can go digging. here's a tease for you ;)



 
It is and it isn't hard. Depends on the time scale.

If you are patient, parts will come by eventually.

I bought one complete on here, and restored two from parts bought on the EE. So it's doable. Just keep your eyes open.

I just got a hand guard from Numrich, it was excellent quality. Also check your local gun shop. I got a few rear hand guards from Epps for about $15 each.
 
Hope you don't mind me piggy backing on your thread. I wanted to do the same thing but rather than chase the elusive original stuff, I'd be happy with some nice "Sporter" wood if anyone has some. The Rifle I picked up has the ugliest Bubba'd stock I've ever seen it looks likeit was hewn with an axe!. The Steel however is all matching numbers and in very good shape - I'd be content to just give it some handsome clothes.
