Restricted license course in hopes Pierre Poilievre dismantles the handgun ban?

Question.

What does the restricted portion of the PAL course involve now that handguns are banned? Let's face it, 95% of the restricted PAL course was handguns. I assume that handguns are no longer used to teach the RPAL course.

Upgrading to a R-PAL doesn't cost that much , and it is better to have it , and not need it , than need it , and not have have it . If the hand gun ban is lifted , R-PAL courses will be full , and the waiting period to get your R-PAL will probably be very lengthy .

I know a couple people that waited till the panic hit and took the R course and had paid deposits on pistols, but because of back loge, they ran out of time.

So get off your butt and do it.

Never going to happen. Poilievre has very little to gain but a lot to lose by touching the handgun ban. Will conservative not vote for Pierre, or another conservative leader, should things stay the same? But how much of the middle will he lose if he does? Guns, especially handguns and "AR's", aren't a political "winner" topic/position in Canada.

Someone should ask him for a yes or no answer on if he will reverse the handgun ban. I don't need links to some non committal interview which was posted in response to my position last time I stated it. I just want a yes or no from him, simple, but that too will never happen. He's just a slippery as all the other politicians, they're all worthless.

The "Yes or No" question has been thoroughly answered. You are simply not paying adequate attention. Pollievre has publicly stated, on several occasions, his intention to:

- Rescind C21 - specifically the handgun ban
- Rescind the May 2020 OIC on "Assault-Style Weapons"
- Adopt the "Simplified Classification System", which if done properly, will free up the semi-automatc utility rifles banned in the early 1990s

Before you ask, No. I will not spend my time doing your homework for you. You can search out those videos just as easily as I can. Look for "End the Crime" portion of each of his publlic rallies as a start....

It is not unreasonable to not trust what a politician says. I don't care what he says or how many times he says it. I will believe it when it happens.

This is a healthy attitude, skepticism without proof is the best option for each individual. Evaluate evidence and decide for yourself. If you decide you are willing to accept the possibility but wait to see results, then that is all anyone can reasonably ask

The more people with their Rpal will help us get it back... If everyone lets their rpal expire or never gets there's it will just give govenrment "stats" to bac up their "Handguns have no place in Canada" bull####

actually easier than that for Pollievre,he doesn't have to repeal the handgun ban right away,he'll use the "EXEMPT" portion of that crap which is open ended,to simply increase the different ways to be exempt, like IPSIC,IDPA,CAS,,pretty much everybody,LOL.all the while staying squeaky clean with the uneducated clue anti-gunners and people who simply dont know or care, all he'll have to say,is ,it's exempt for competitors only, which is a couple dollars a year to join, and never have to do actuall competing, this way,how can the libtards make this sound bad when it;s for vetted competitors only,LOL.the average joe has no clue, and will see it makes complete sense,.
