Retail Price Dropping on T97?

Mine has around 300 rounds through it. The feed ramp works perfectly, the bore has not been drilled into and I have never had a malfunction. Works perfect with every magazine (Colt, Troy, PMAG Gen 3, LAR, Labelle, DH, the ####ty looking factory mag and Nork CQA mags) except Lancer AWM's and some of my gen 2 PMAGS (out of spec spine width). Serial number is under 80...

My only complaints are the terrible iron sights and horrible mag release position.
 
So extremely glad I didn't buy one… I cannot actually believe I was 'sitting on the fence' thinking maybe I'd buy one. I held one at a store and thought, this is a nifty little rifle, holy smokes...you talk about an almost (for me) fail!:confused: ...but I guess if you have one and you're enjoying it, that's awesome!

ah the infamous CJ 95 norc ammo....

the rims are out of spec... they have feed and eject issues as a result. On my mini 14s they stove pipe all the Fing time. 20-30% of the rims are so bad they don't fit in a shell holder on my press (most are tight and need some loving to get in and out)
 
L.E.P. I would that it were so simple, dear sir. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening with Federal and Remington ammo as well.
I'm not real big on 'quit', so I've got one more thing I'm going to try with this gun before I use it to prop doors open.
That, at least, I'm confident it can do consistently.

If the ammunition problem were true, why are people not seeing the same issues with their HK, SIG, Swiss arms, etc when running the same ammo?

I find it very odd for this to be a problem when both the gun and ammo in the pic originate from the same country, what ammo are they testing it with at the factory?

I'm at around 1000 rounds of Norc, federal, and hand loads.
Never had one single failure or stoppage. I milled the mag well and recut the feed ramp before I ever fired the thing, mostly so it would work with lar mags and gen 3 pmags.
It's my rifle of choice for calling coyotes in tighter bush where your longest sight line is 200 yards or so.
I'm very happy with the t97.

I read this once in a while that someone gets a good one or has been able to bubba one together that works decent, but reality for me as to what I have seen and experienced with the T97's that I have been around is that many have problems, some as bad as the one below, others less. In the end a rifle that does not run out of the box and needs work is not what most people are looking for when buying.

I have a few hundred rounds through mine without one problem... Not one problem. Mine accepts LAR mags as well without problems. . This is a great firearm just like every single other norc I've owned.

The biggest problem is people crapping all over it because it's a norc. Those that have spent 3 times as much on another bullpup need to be able to justify their actions somehow... That's the way I see it. Maybe the odd rifle has its problems, but that can be said of any manufacturer.

I have no problem with any brand, my opinions of a rifle are based on how they operate, just because it is 3 times cheaper doesn't mean I should expect problems like those being posted and similar I have experienced first hand.

What is there a need to justify?, you give someone with no idea on retail price or even firearms in general a T97, Tavor and a kel tech and I bet he can tell you which one (T97) is going to be the cheapest on basic looks and operation after putting a couple hundred rounds through each one.
 
I see that SFRC has just Sold Out of their first batch of T97's. I think they started with 30. Dropping the price and adding a couple of items in a bundle made them sell pretty quick. I guess I should have waited a month before buying mine at full price. Oh well.

My point wasn't that I got a good one.
My point was that the feed ramps have to be cut to match the magazine seating depth, in every t97.
It's easy, a file and 20 minutes max. They simply didn't do the detail work when changing the design over to .223, the basic t97 design and manufacturing is very solid though.

I own, or have owned, almost every high end black rifle out there.
The t97 is a good value for what it is, the quality is better than you're giving it credit for.
It's not something I'll hand to my grandchildren, it's a compact, lightweight, decently accurate coyote killer, that will be drug through the snow, dirt, and mud.
At its price point I'm okay with abusing it thusly. I'd not feel right doing that to a $2000 gun.
