Revenge of bubba. The 1927 tikka twins

Why does someone allways have nothing better to do then to start a fight on here. I sware if gun owners stopped arguing with eachother and putthat agression to gun laws we would have turret mounted miniguns on smartcars by the end of the week. Both sides suffered massive losses. For the amount of people and lack of equipment the fins proved to be a force not easy to defeat.

My point is the opposite. They did as expected. No more no less.
Western propaganda against the USSR during the cold war bumped the numbers to mythical values.

Let's revise those numbers a bit

Dude, thats for d-day, not the Normandy campaign. Even so, if you use the higher number For German casualties the ratio still does not come close to the Finnish one. BTW what time period is accounted for in your numbers for the Finnish campaign? It seems you only account for dead and not wounded.

Dude, the ratios are pretty much known. Statistically.
There is variation but within reason.
Anything else is propaganda.

edit: you are clearly biased since you use the high estimate instead of the middle one.

Well bias works both ways. Given the odds stacked against the Finns, I think they performed above the statistical average. Besides, Europe was one giant fortified position and the western allies did not suffer four times the casualties of the Germans over the course of the war. The Finns where highly motivated and the Soviets where not.

Propaganda? To what end? If the Soviets hadn't sent their men in with bad training, crap equipment and poor leadership they may have fared better.

woulda, shoulda...
history happened

if you've served in the military you'd know this is the ratio when on defense...
one platoon can hold a company...
one company can hold a battalion...

Those numbers don't hold true to Canadian soldiers in Korea. 1 Canadian is worth 500 Koreans or Chinese.

Thanks. Extending the barrel was a challenge with my half dead equipment but the nightmare was fitting the stock and handguard to the heavy barrel.
