RFB initial thoughts, Range report ***JANUARY 31st ammo test at bottom of OP***

Did you get on Wanstalls pre-pre-pre order list for the KSG? They've got one going...

Oh man, I have to stop reading these threads. The wait for my RFB is killing me. I called Wanstalls yesterday and they told me it would be roughly ten weeks to get mine (I'm number 10 on the list). I can't wait and going through these threads makes the wait worthwhile but at the same time it's eating me up inside for not getting mine now.

And speaking of Kel-Tec, I wouldn't mind seeing this baby up here either, the Kel-Tec shotgun with dual tube magazines.

(hijack in process) The only thing better than one RFB is...

and yes Fireball, your mag is bigger than mine
(but it is not how deep you fish but how you wiggle your worm).

So very mean.... Two wrongs don't make a right, but two Wright's make a plane... and two RFB's snuggling while I twiddle my thumbs on a waiting list make me very jealous... Congratulations...

Now to pursue redneck ways, and continue to obtain accessories for things I don't own yet...

Serious? I would add my name if it was...

Yep...serious...I put mine in last week...and I'm #5 ...the caveat is that there is no guarantee that we'll see them/get them/touch them/fire them. If Vault does get them (remember they're being unveiled at SHOT Show) it'll be about 12-18 months from now...at a guess.

My order from Reliable came in today !

Nigel Powers: My lord! You're a tripod. :D

Just need a Harris bipod that has the rail mount so I don't have to use the goofy adapter. I'm not really sold on the look but it's just on there for hand load development.
Don't bother with the Magpul AFG !! The RFB is too short and trying to hold on to the AFG really screws up your wrist in a short amount of time, I tried today.

I just called Wanstalls and placed my name on the list :D Thanks for the heads up! Here's to hoping it does make its way to Canada.

LOL Brordo... I'm number 3 on the list. I don't know how someone managed to get on the list before me though. Minutes after I found out about the KSG the very first thing I did was email Wanstalls and get them to make a list and put me on it. hehe

HAHAHA! Didn't know there would be more this early. Right after I saw the KSG the DAY the news came out I emailed Wanstall's. He told me he'd start a "good luck and have a long wait list" and told me I would be the first one on it. I kinda thought he was kidding!!! HAR! w:h:

Well...I didn't even think it possible until I saw Wolverine post that they would start a preorder on future products. With that I enquired at wanstalls only to hear 4 others already beat me to the punch...I don't mind...it's nice to know that if this gets here I have a good shot of seeing one in my safe.

I donèt understand wandstall told me friday they would not put me on a pre-order list as they stop adding to the list until more info is giving from kel-tec:s

More RFb talk, less ksG talk. Anyone gone out to shoot theirs some more? I loaded up some 168 SMKs but haven't been able to get out again.

Have RL15, 168 SMK, CCI benchrest primers and some good once fired brass. I'll be doing up a reloading ladder from 40-45 grains.

One of the RFB rifles that Lineofsight photographed was mine :p.

Some optics information:

I have a few scopes that I refer to as "floaters". They're set up with quick release rings and meant mostly for ammo testing on rifles that might not get a scope later on. Or for whatever else I may need. Very handy.

Well one of the 4.5-18x 56mm Falcon Menace Scopes I have with ML-16 reticle and Extra High Zeiss (Warne made) quick release rings, just works height wise. The scope looks ridiculous on the RFB but it will do for ammo testing. Although the eye relief is a little less than I'd like for .308 I'll be giving it a try.

My final scope will probably be a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x 40mm with Warne extra high quick release rings. It's a great all around scope and this setup should work well and even look decent.

I'm planning on going to the range on Wednesday. I also have all the same ammo that I provided to Fireball and he has enough to do another test. So more accuracy tests will be coming.

Good to hear epoxy. I ended up trying a ktog member's recipe, NATO brass, 40.7 grains reloader15 and 168 smks. It'll be a good starting point, but I couldn't even fit the RFB into the rifle holder thing, it's too short.

Keep us posted. I expect more from you because I'm a ####ty shot.

I'll be running about 10 of those as well :p IE 40.7. I also have some 168 Berger VLD and 175 SMK that I'll do the ladder with then fine tune.

I have a Caldwell's Rock benchrest and a number of different rear bags. I should be able to get something to work. The short mag will also help with this. I hope. The picture doesn't show the bag on the top. Plus you can rotate the top around so the one middle support foot is at the front.

Epoxy7, that rest you pictured looks way too complicated for you, it has more than one adjustment... Have a look at the Stoney Plains Marksman Bench bag down the road from you, (the H shaped one where the rifle rests in the middle of the top of the H supported for about 16"), if you want to try that one pick it up and I'll get it from you later (meaning to pick one up but no time to play the next two weeks).
