RIA or SAM 1911

There seems to be tons of options for a decent .45 1911 out there latelty.

However I am seeking advice and reviews from those who own and shoot a RIA or SAM 1911.

I don't really care about the fancy dancy options. I am of the opinion that the problems with shooting are usually between the gun and the ground. Furthermore to that if you can't shoot a combat gun then what makes you think you can shoot a $2500.00 gun.
The major thing I am concerned with is reliabiltiy. There is no point in my mind having a gun that will not feed or extract rounds in a reliable manner.
Can any of you who own 1911's from RIA or SAM give me your honest experiences with them?
 
I own a SAM 1911 Commander edition. I have shot over 1000 rounds through it with zero problems. The finish and quality is about the same as RIA. Just a very solid gun.

One thing to note.. The magazine that came with it does not like to be loaded with 8 rounds. If you load 8 rounds it hangs up feeding the first round. If you load 7 rounds then its flawless. I keep meaning to buy a couple of new mags but just never got around to it.

I definitely recommend a SAM if you are looking for an affordable 1911.
 
If I were in the market for a 1911, I'd buy this for sure. SAM Thunderbolt. I've been thinking about it since I saw it just after Xmas.
Yeah it's $800, but look at what you get (picatinny rail, adj. sight, skeleton hammer & trigger, checkered front-strap, ambi safety, etc).
My first pistol will either be this or a CZ SP-01 Shadow.

Look at the real question..... then look at your response.... I did not want you to start posting pics.....I could care less what your gun looks like ( your gun #### is really daft) .....really! really.......If you want to impress people on this site show what your target looks like. Oh My Oh My.....this just Proves we as men can not listen,.........Frig my wife was right.....I want reviews on function....Does it work will it keep working....learn to read.......why you gotta spout off about your gun....how cool it is....how it is this....how it looks .......no no no no no no
any fool can do that....any fool can buy a gun.....how does it work reliable......function...function ......function.....
this really upsets me as a man that we can not all communicate.
I sleep now and pray for your reading ability.!!!!
